But only because I bought a $50 Moto e from TracFone. I got an email from Samsung a couple of days ago. Prices ran from $550 - $950. Not for me!

Don't buy the latest model. Last year I bought a brand new US 2020 model unlocked Samsung S20 on Amazon for under $200. It's a great phone in a perfect size for me with wireless charging, 5G, and Samsung's final model to have a memory card slot so that the phone will never fill up no matter how many photos or songs, etc., I put on there.

I'm probably going to get that stick to clean the film from the inside of the windshield the seems to always come back... offgassing of interior coverings? However, the bad reviews for that spray leave a lot doubt in my mind. Seems it's hard to buff away the streaks that it leaves and it doesn't always work well for fogging.

Which model tracker?

Fitbit Charge 4. It is one of the smaller less intrusive ones and it only needs to be re-charged about once a week. I think Charge 5 and 6 are out now.

I had three FitBits, but they stopped working way too soon. Now, I just keep track of my steps by counting them as I walk.

That's odd, I never take mine off and it's one of the cheapest models and through showers and all kinds of bumps and slams against things it keeps on working. BTW, I got it for steps but I have also improved my sleep greatly by analyzing the sleep tracking data and making adjustments to my routines.

I bought a Fitbit and took up walking in January of 2022. I weighed over 220 lbs and at first could barely make it around the block. Over two years I lost 60 lbs and now try to walk a minimum of 7 miles a day (about 14k steps). The longest exercise walk I've done was just over 16 miles and over 30k steps. At first it was start/stop as it was very boring but then I got a good set of earbuds and got into listening to interesting podcasts and that made all the difference. The latest advice I've read is that you get maximum heart and longevity benefits from between 6000 and 7500 exercise steps per day and any more after that are just for losing weight or enjoyment.

I had one too, exactly like that one but in metallic bronze with a white top and interior.

So according to that chart my Grandmother who was born in 1890 (average life expancy around 40 years) beat the odds by nearly 250%... she made it to 99

Yes, lots of "Blackouts." This one is simply "Blackout 1" and Blackout 2." Too many movies have that "Blackout" title. I couldn't find the two-parter that I watched.

Was Nick Nolte in it?

There are a few "Blackout" shows and movies. Are you referring to the 2022 movie that includes Nick Nolte as one of the cast?

Should that surprise you. Nearly every company in the world does that.

I have a Sony A7rii and plan an overseas trip this summer. Do any such Sony users have a good travel lens suggestion? I would like wide to long capability.

The Sony 24-240 lens is what I consider the best travel lens because of it's coverage from wide to fairly long telephoto. It's not considered one of Sony's best lenses but I have one and the IQ is very good while the size and price are very reasonable.

Don't have any figures locally but I am hearing about friends and family with COVID.

The wife and I are older (she mid 70s and I late 70s) and have multiple medical problems so in the initial COVID we pretty-much stayed home... now again being careful... but in a few days we ARE going to take a 800+ mile, 1 way, road trip to visit grandchildren... here's hoping/praying we avoid COVID/FLU/RSV.

What I have heard around here is FLU is hospitalizing more people that COVID lately... and we have taken FLU and RSV vaccines. We took the COVID vaccines (2) when they came out but our Dr. advised us to NOT take the latest booster.
Don't have any figures locally but I am hearing ab... (show quote)

Curious why the doctor advised you against the latest booster. Did he/she give a reason?

Here's what I can say about the vaccines from personal experience. My wife got the first rounds but then refused to get the Omicron specifc vaccine that came out last May which I did get. She went back to work in a restaurant last August after stopping when covid closed the one she was working for in 2020. She is 53, weighs 100 lbs at 5 ft tall and is in perfect health as per a complete physical a couple of months ago. She never smoked, doesn't drink, eats mostly fruits and vegetables, and exercises every morning. I, on the other hand, am 74 smoked a pack and a half a day for 15 years, have been a daily alcohol drinker for over 50 years, eat anything I want and have asthma and a history of high blood pressure and high cholesterol; so in the high risk group.

Within two weeks of starting back in restaurant work she got covid as did nearly every other employee there. She brought it home and gave it to me. I had a mild fever and chills for 3 days and then was back to normal feeling fine. She was sick for a month, nearly bedridden for the first week and had lingering symptoms including loss of taste and smell plus headaches and extreme fatigue for the rest of that month.

I attribute the difference in the severity between us to that vaccine last May.

Unfortunately, people have learned about Alta. All skiing is expensive now and Alta is no exception, but I have skied there the last 5 years for free (anyone over 80 skis for free).

Good for you! I'm 74 and had to give it up years ago because I could no longer do strenuous activity at altitude.
