Really like #3, especially the sun rays on the water.

What this photo tells me, is something I have suspected a long time, that only monkeys use Nikon!

I watched a Youtube video on the mono-pod series from these guys yesterday. Seems to be an extremely well built & thought out system of supports.

I ordered the Gazelle Uprise yesterday. We'll see when it comes in.

Another option for your tripod is the Slik Leveling unit here https://www.adorama.com/sllu2.html?origterm=slik+leveling+unit+ii&searchredirect=true

You can always use something like the Arcatech Long Lens Head (https://www.adorama.com/acr1160.html kinda expensive, but great quality) with a level tripod. I'm probably going to purchase the iFootage Gazelle since I'm getting tired of trying to level my tripod all of the time. I also have an L bracket on my camera which makes portrait orientation easy. I also think you need to have at least a ballhead that has the pano feature (The long lens head has that) but without a level tripod it makes it harder.

I don't know where you got your info, but, the Canon EF 24-105 f/4 L IS and L II IS as well as the EF 24-70 f/4 L IS all have stabilization.

Does anyone have any experience with the iFootage "Gazelle Uprise" or possibly the "Fastbowl" tripod? I'm looking mainly because of the easy to level ballhead that is already on it. I'm thinking of ordering one and I'm curious if anyone else has tried them. https://www.ifootagegear.com/products/gazelle-uprise

Using a cable release, on a Manfrotto lightweight tripod, shooting with a Nikon D750 (or D5000) and a Tamron 24-70 lens so a different / sturdier tripod may be in order.

I've used the light weight Manfrotto BeFree tripod for a lot of night and long exposures and never had a tripod problem. I'd try a 2 second delay before the expense of a new tripod. Oh yeah, and make sure that the incline isn't docking while you're shooting if you're on that platform

Also, be sure to turn off image stabilization when shooting on a tripod.

I also use live view, zoom in and confirm focus manually and if I don't use a remote, I shoot with a two second delay.

We're headed up to the 'Burgh in a couple of weeks and look forward to taking some cityscapes.

I originally had the 24-105L and sold it a while back, no too long ago and I got the 24-70L f/4 IS as my walk around lens. Since I go hiking and walk around in the woods quite a bit, the one thing I really liked was the Macro/close focus option that this lens offered, I realize it's not a true macro lens but it still does a great job on some of the wildflowers I come across. I'm very pleased with this lens. Rockwell does a review of that lens here (https://www.kenrockwell.com/canon/lenses/24-70mm-f4.htm) if you're interested.

Cass Scenic Railway can be spectacular stop in the fall. There is nothing like seeing a hearing a steam engine travel through the gorge. Grandview near Beckley, Glade Mill at Babcock State Park (The cabins are great!), Hawks Nest State Park where you can take a tram ride down the mountain, Bear Rocks Preserve, there are just so many things to do and places to visit. We head up that way every October and then try to follow the fall colors down to the Smokey Mountains. Enjoy your trip, its a wonderful time of year to be in the mountains.
