Pretty awesome. Thanks for sharing. Wish you had included the download version, however, nice work.
I have only a small file. Scanned this years ago from the print itself, and the technology wouldn't give me a big file. Thank you for the nice comment. :-)

I know what you mean. It's a sort of combination of a musky smelll and strawberries. The strawberry smell is great, but sometimes that musky smell can overwhelm the strawberry smell.

Thanks JoAnneK01. Where is the photo from on your profile page? The nice creek image.

I can't remember the name of the lake, but I did a killer hike that was like a 2200 foot incline to photograph mountain goats in the Olympics on the Hood Canal side ,Constitution ? Many, many years ago. I think it started with a C. Constitution ? We had to grab hold of exposed tree roots to help climb up the steep trail. At dawn I spied a pair of goats high on a trail above the lake where we had camped. I went back to sleep and when I awoke the goats were about 15 feet away from me. They had come down for salt that had been deposited by hikers emptying themselves at the campsite.

I'm going to guess Mildred Lakes, up the Hamma Hamma River. That trail gains about 2200-2400 feet with a whole bunch of exposed tree roots. Also, the goats are up there above the main lake. Did you ever get some shots of the goats?
First morning sun rays lighting up Tolmie's Alpine Saxifrage, SW Olympics.
This lake takes some big effort to get to, but the reward is phenomenal. No signs of previous visitors, though I have to suspect that there have certainly been some people here.
My friend was running out of steam, until he first set his eyes on the lake from a pass about 1100 feet above.
Caught him well-rested with camera at the ready the next morning, waiting for the sun to stream in.

I remember when I could do that without a care in the world. Forty pounds in a back pack and good for two weeks.
Well, then keep those memories alive. It's always good to relive them in our heads. That's the beauty of life.

nice, this strange stuff is also along the Old McKinsey Hwy near the Lava Flows here in Oregon. Definitely strange stuff.
Yes, it definitely likes well drained ground and open sun.
