Just remember the 1, 2, 3's of saving photo and other media. Main computer, external media(disc or DVD) and the cloud. Commercial or free cloud backup, like flikr.

My armatuer opinion. #2, my attention stops at the rock in the foreground. #1 for me the middle of the clouds are too dark and maybe lighten up on the blue. That being said I would choose #1, then again I'm just an amateur who has been judged by the pro's. Good Job.

Just a recap, I did buy the Mark II, on it's way. Went back to Yosemite this last week. I used the camera and lens that I fell into the water with last time I went. Pic seems good to me? But again never know where the water went and how long it will last? Thank You all so much for your help.

Great shot! I had a similar problem, but I used my 100mm-400mm with a 2X extender. No worries.

Just an addendum. Had canon return the camera, saving my $$ for the MKII, should have it after the first. Just for fun I put the bad lens and camera, the ones I fell into the water with, took some pretty decent pictures, they both actually worked. Will take it to Yosemite next month and maybe get that shot I was trying to get when I fell in, what harm (except for me) could I do. Just kidding, staying out of rivers. I'll use the both until they die. Thank you all, so much for your advice. Anybody want to buy a lens and camera(:

Went down, all the way down December. I'm one of the fifteen percenters. It was a nice two day round trip. Everyone should take that journey. Simply beautiful. Oh my pics?? Lost the memory card, daughter found it, she sent them to me and I got them the day I left for Alaska. Put them on a portable hard drive, dropped it six inches and they wern't recoverable according to Seagate. "Rule of 1,2,3" my fault. All I have is what I could recover from Light Room and fond memories. Great job and thank you for the memories.

That's what worries me?? Bots or People? Just asking if anyone out there had any experience with them? By nature I'm suspicious of all!

Question? Should I stay away from 42nd Street Camera, Pos reviews mostly and when I talked to them, they did give me two quotes, grey market and US warranty. Any good or bad experiences I should be aware of?

Thanks, unfortunately I'm no stranger to falling into water. The good news is that it was fresh water. Canon didn't eve open the lens, but sent it back (now a paper weight). Did all that and the camera was working when I sent it in and when they send it back it should be still working. I think that their repair is a standard for camera's getting wet. They said nothing about the sensor. Just the main circuit board being replaced. All other parts were the body casing.

Camera was working fine before I sent in in for repairs, I wouldn't sell it w/o telling someone what had happen, just not me. Maybe I'll use it until it conks out, or I fall into the river again??

While at Yosemite I fell into the Merced River while trying to get "that shot". I knew right away that my 24mm-70mm 2.8 II was a goner. But I had a lot of hope that my Canon 1DX would pull through. They were both in the water no more than 3 secs. I am covered by insurance. Phew! Two days in rice still water inside of glass of lens, sent both camera and lens to Canon, lens DOA and camera 1,800 to fix. I had 2 24mm-70mm 2.8 II lenses and the insurance is paying 1,800 to replace. $3600 total. My camera worked after I let it dry out. My question is I trust Canon to do a good job at fixing my camera, but it's been in the water. For 1,800 more I can buy a lDX mkII brand new, not replacing the lens since I already have one. Should I buy the Mk II and just have Canon send back the Mk I? Attached: 1st pic 3hrs after getting wet, then 2nd pic two days after. And if I do buy a new one, Canon, B&H or Adaorama or any other suggested places.

Though I'm not a pro, I understood what I needed to do based on my instincts. As I said before I have dyslexia so maybe in this case stopping down made sense to me, but you are right doesn't help the other people. This is the way I learn, schooling never has helped me. I take what all have told me and then go out and shoot, see what works. Which is what I call my instincts. Learned that from my photo teacher. He told me not to listen to him, learn the basics to pass the course, by shoot from what's inside you. Thank you so much for all the help. I don't shoot moving people too often, but this info will come in handy if the is another time. Also will help with my overall photography. Thank you all so much.

Again thanks for all the input. This is how I learn. Appreciate all the ideas. I have shot Volleyball and Basketball games once or twice, didn't have that much trouble. Gym seems to have more lighting, still got movement on some shoots. I prefer to shoot nature shots, though I do go to Iditarod every year, but most of the time Mushers come in during the day. When they do come in at night I do set up a tripod for one of my cameras(usually my long lens) and hand hold my short lens. Thanks again and I'm excited to put your ideas to use if I ever shoot wrestling again.
