Ken has been sighted at the mall, trying on fashion outfits. Currently in the bell bottoms and ascot department. Please do not approach.

When the OP stated a friend asked her to take over the preschool photos, it sounded to me like this is something small and typically taken care of by parents, not a professional gig. Some preschools are small with a few classes and they don't want or need a professional. If this is the case here, the OP really just needs a camera, extra battery, flash, backdrop and an assistant. And going to the photo shoot area ahead of time to determine lighting would be good, too. This isn't a wedding. Maybe the OP can clear that up for us, as far as whether this is something that needs all the professional set up, or just a simple preschool class photo session done by parents. It doesn't need to be difficult.

Last summer on the beach I found just a Barbie arm. I think we may have a serial killer. BOLO should be issued for Ken immediately. (Thanks for the laughs!)

That sounds like fun! My biggest concern would be lighting. And do you have a backdrop? Tethering your camera to a laptop and using something like Lightroom would let you look at the picture on the screen, then decide if you need to retake it. Convenient when the kid is still sitting there. I would go home and edit the portraits if need be, then send them off to be printed. It would probably be cheaper than doing it yourself by the time you got the printer, photo paper and ink. Good luck! As long as you have a good setup and the right lighting, you'll do fine.

I do have 2 Instagram accounts. One for friends and family and one for photography. I figure a lot of my friends and family aren't always interested in all my "artistic" photos, so I started the photography account. Mostly it's for fellow photography school students and anyone else who takes an interest. It's nice to see other student's work, aside from what you see on the photography school site (online course). The school started a FB page so I joined FB even though I'be been on there twice before and deleted my account twice. I'm not a FB fan but this school group is so great, it's worth being on it just for that. One thing about Instagram, it's hard to know how many people actually like your photo. Some people just go through and "like" everything. I tend to look at photos and if I actually DO like them, I'll hit the button. A lot of people are out for followers and "likes". I think you can even purchase them! I just like seeing other people's work so I go to whatever platform their work is on. I also have a Flickr account. I'm not old enough for the dinosaurs but not too far from it. I like keeping up with what's out there.

What a fun photo! That dog is perfect for a sheriff, running those cats out of town! Great shot!

I really hate spiders yet I looked at these, anyway. Orb weavers are pretty cool. Great shots and interesting film commentary, too!

I have never heard of those birds. Learned something today! Great pics, so clear and well focused. Nice work.

This is excellent on download! I may see your interlopers but I won't give it away. Even zoomed in this is a nice clear shot. And I regret not getting a camera with an articulated screen. My next camera will have one!

Thank you, everyone, for the kind and funny comments. Husband was happy with the result but might think twice next time I ask him for assistance!

So it took a little doing, but I convinced my husband to don the wolf costume and go out in the backyard for my photo shoot. He was concerned the neighbors might see him in a flowery nightgown, but he was the only one available to be my "model" at the time. So he got the job. I wanted to have a real Riding Hood but since no one was around, I settled for throwing her cape over a log and letting the audience decide what happened to her! This is 4 photos combined into one. A fun project (for me, anyway). Looks best in download, of course.

First off, your paintings are amazing! I wish I could do that.
I have digital frames, post on Flickr and Instagram, and have printed photos on metal. I'd like to do a website someday but I'm already having trouble keeping up with Flickr and Instagram.

great photo! is the one on the far right a Schnauzer? the nose looks like it....and looks like my schnauzer. and the "attitude" would confirm it. :-)

She is a mix of a Chinese Crested and we think Australian cattle dog or shepherd? Super smart and if it weren't for her attitude would be great at agility. Here's a pic of what she looks like without the sheet. Another photo shoot that she frowned upon. (Disregard the shadow in the background...I have an edited version somewhere). Overall, they don't mind photo shoots...the labs will do anything for treats so they're fine. And Leila just doesn't like to be told she has to do something. Stubborn! We keep the time to a minimum so if she gets too grumpy we take breaks. But usually I can get a shot fairly fast if all the stars and planets are aligned that day!
