Tah-kwah-meh-non is how we always pronounced it. I used to live not far from it. It's also spectacular in the winter with lots of colours in the ice.

I just bought a Promaster SP532. It's plenty tall enough for me (I'm 6'2") and has a really nice ball head with tension and lock options I haven't seen on other heads...and two levels - one on the tripod, one at the QR. Here's the link: http://promaster.com/Product/8139

I love my 18-300 f3.5-6.3. It's light, versatile, and small. On my D7200, I've turned on the lens distortion and vignetting controls and am amazed at the photos I'm getting now compared to my old Canon T3i with a Tamron 16-300. The low light capability and high ISO capacity of the D7200 are amazing!

Wow. That is impressive. Thanks for mentioning it; I hadn't yet found that slider.

I have the Nikon 18-300 f3.5-6.3 and would recommend it because the d7200 has built-in correction for lens distortion (barrel and pincushion)
and vignetting. I find that cuts out a couple of steps in PP.

The Tamron 16-300 is made for Nikon and would give you the angle of view of a 24-450. That covers wide angle for interiors and landscape to fairly long telephoto for birds, planes and wildlife.

We drove past there last summer on our way to the Very Large Array (radiotelescopes). Unfortunately, there was a lot of smoke in the air, so I wasn't able to get a good photo. It was good enough, though, for Google Images to easily identify it! 😃

I'd go for #2 and #4.

I recently bought a D7200 with the 18-300 f3.5-6.3 and am very pleased with it. The D7200 menus allow you to correct for lens distortion in-camera, so you don't have to do that in PP. I find that the combo works well even in relatively low light.

I just bought the D7200 and love it. It performs well in low light. I didn't buy it in a kit, but bought the 18-300mm f3.5-6.3 instead of the kit lenses (what can I say, I prefer the convenience of a single lens). I don't think you could go wrong with that deal. For the package, that sounds like a great price.

I had the Tamron 16-300mm on my Canon T3i and loved it for most all the photography I do. Lightroom has a profile for the lens that cleans up the distortion pretty well.

I recently decided to upgrade to a camera that does much better with low light and bought a Nikon D7200 and a Nikon 18-300mm f3.5-6.3 and am very happy with it. I've found that some reviewers preferred the f3.5-5.6, but others indicated that the newer lens (3.5-6.3) is better optically. I'm very happy with the combo I bought. The D7200 does a fantastic job of correcting the optics (vignetting and lens distortion) for the Nikon 18-300 right in the camera, so I no longer have to mess with lens profiles in Lightroom.

Hmm...I read a couple of reviews of the f/3.5-6.3 before I bought it to go with my D7200...and they rated it as better than the 3.5-5.6. I'm very pleased with the quality. I also set the D7200 to correct for lens distortion and to correct for vignetting. I'm loving the combination. I guess Dan and I will go on having fun with the lens...it certainly is a lot lighter and less hassle than lugging around several primes. To each their own!
