welcome Paul your video is a stunning piece of work with some really beautiful photos, look forward to see you interact on UHH
Maybe look into a refurbished by Nikon and look at the D7100 which is older one or the D7200, there are a lot of different ways to look at it but those two have better options then the D3000 series has. And yes more to learn but you wont feel like after a year or two of learning your camera because of lack of options on the D3000 Nikon cameras that you need to upgrade again the D3000 series has limited options of setting on it camera`s and yes after 12 years of not shooting and getting back into it and now having DSLR or Mirrorless cameras I found that out and after 1 1/2 years with a Nikon D3400 I went to a D7100 because at the time the D7200 was not out yet. GoodLuck and remember take your camera with you a lot and take a lot of pictures it is best way to learn after reading your manual.
www.adobe.com check out the lightroom apps they have been around for a long time and can do alot if things with there programs. Used by new to photography and pros too.
Take a look at Nikons 18-140mm lens, I hardly ever take mine off my D7100 it works for so many different shooting situations has just right amont of zoom ability.
And yes by the way the previous photo was cropped the original was lost due to a bad card.
I got back into doing photography again 3 years ago, and checked around the DSLR world and went with a Nikon D3300 to start out with, now that I have been using a DSLR for awhile, I have talked with a lot of people that use DSLR cameras, and a lot of them and some pros I have asked think that the last good Nikon DSLR for people newer to DSLR camera`s (hobbyist or enthusiast) was the Nikon D7100. My wife has one and loves it. So I agree with others that sometimes waiting can be a disappointment once they come out with something new. Good luck in your decision on a new DSLR.
My Trinity is AF-S Nikkor f/1.8G 50mm, Tamron SP AF 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di ll for Nikon wide angle and the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports Lens for Nikon
I know that my wife and I got back into photography again 4 years ago and after she saw the camera I had a D3300 she decided on the D7100 and she has a AF-S Nikkor 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6 ED VR and she hardly ever takes that lens off when ever she shoots and I am getting that one next for myself.
Maybe what we all need to do as far as dealing with cthahn, is just ignore him since we do not no if it is just ignorance of just being a really rude individual. But this maybe the best way to end his actions. Or you need to make a category above so members can vote on it: as to being able to out people like that from the site. I know it is a bit harsh but if someone uses the site just to be rude and obnoxious to everyone do you want that type of person on this site?? This is just one members perspective.
I am just a hobbyist photographer and thru all my researching I found a pro photographer that has a great way to make sure you remember what is needed for a photo shoot, do not know how a professional Photographer feels about using another photographers program but if you have a apple phone you can use a program that is called "My Gear Vault", it is available at the Apple store. As of right now there is no Android version but that is in the works and hopes to have it out possibly in June. If nothing else take a look at it and read about what you can all do with the program. You never know but even as a hobbyist it looks like it could be useful.
I use Nikon, I just started shooting again 3 years ago. When I started looking into the Digital Camera`s I decided on the Nikon, because they have more lens that are interchangeable with some of their other Nikon camera`s so if you decide to change camera`s at some point I started with a D3300 and then moved up to the D7100 because it has some features that the D3300 did not have and it can use the lens that I had.
