Its a first, a photographers nightmare. I set up on a remote shoot some distance from my studio & set up my backdrop, camera and, low and behold the cable to hook up my PocketWizard to my mono lights was missing.( no speed lights). The shoot was a picture day shoot for about 100 kids, and I had all of 10 minutes to figure out what the hell to do. Above were florescent lights in a low light situation.
Amazingly I was able to use my pop up on my camera. I had brought a F2.8 lens & raised my ISO to 1600%. I lowered my Shutter speed to 1/30th on a tripod, to get as much ambient as possible. I used the umbrellas mounted to stands and raised them to the celling lights to reflect a bit more light. and finally got all of the blue cast out from the overhead fluorescents by doing a custom WB with my gray card.
I got home and with a bit of tweaking in LR I was able to get good images with slight but acceptable noise.
I hope this never happens to any of you guys. I have set up another camera bag with every possible cables, speed lights, tools, chargers to take with my next shoot, and will leave it in my car just in case.
I just had to share my nightmare. LOL P.S. all of the shots were acceptable and shipped out to the club.

A good photographer would use a check list so h e does not have to tell the world how stupid he is.

That was very rude and totally uncalled for. I guess you've never forgotten anything?

It is always disappointing, yet still satisfying, to see that a person is already on your Ignore List.

All one needs to do is look into cthahn posts. They are all negative and trollish with never anything amounting to a beneficial suggestion.

Lee, great job working with your skill. I know you won't have that same thing happen again and even if you do, your ingenuity will prevail.

And a good UHH member would not write a post simply as an insult. This might come as a rude shock to you, but such comments are not helpful to the OP or anyone else.

I see cthahn is back and up to his usual uplifting and helpful posts. NOT!!!!
Out of over 1400 posts, he has NEVER posted a photo!
But how would we know the good people if we had no evil people to compare to?
