In my younger days (i'm 68 now) me and a friend would go out riding through the woods for fun until he ran smack dab into a tree and broke his leg in several places. This was before cell phones so it was quite a trial trying to contact help.
After that I converted to street bikes. My last being a Harley. Then my wife started to have serious neck problems and couldn't put her helmet on. Sold it with 1,680 miles on it in 2010 and hung it up for two wheel riding.

Just recently flew from South Florida to frigid Northern Iowa.Keep batteries in cameras with no problems. My carry on did get checked because of a large tin of home made chocolate fudge my son-in-law requested . All was accounted for.

Yes! Slipped on a wet exposed tree root and nearly went over a 40 foot cliff in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Luckily my wife was there and grabbed onto me.
Then there was the time in North Carolina, going done a narrow path after a rain (of course) when the dirt gave way and I fell about 20 feet. The dirt below was somewhat soft due to the rain and helped break my fall. My camera, though bounced up and hit me in the face.
I'm 68 now with a bad back so I think long and hard now before I take chances. Thinking of doing more food and portrait photography...less hazardous to my health.
On the other hand, the stories of what we sometimes have to go through to get the shot makes it all the more interesting and fun to tell.

Sorry to take so long to get back to you. Been traveling a lot. In northern Iowa now fffffreezing.
Yes, the shot was taken in South Florida on Singer Island, a great place for portraits due to large rock formations on the beach

90 percent of the time it's a Sigma 18 - 250. The other 10 percent is a Canon 100 - 400

It's a PANO...doing what it's supposed to do! No, I don't think you're trying to squeeze to much into it. It looks great! Nice job.

When I first looked at your image, my eyes went right to the pink flowers in the background. The B & W version helps to focus on the main subject and not the background color / flowers.
Good shot, by the way.

I did weddings and portraits for many years. The more I did them, the better I got, the more I charged. With that said, price according to your skill level / experience. You want to have your clients (in reality) purchase you new / better equipment? Then don't be afraid to charge them what YOU feel you're worth.
I had trouble doing that at first, but over the years my base price was $5,000. My last year before retiring from the business I did 42 weddings.

Got one myself, with the encouragement of my wife to purchase it. LOVE THAT WOMAN!! The problem now is that I desire the 1.4 or 2x adapter. "Oh sweetie..."
