I got the original link to work by copying the entire string and pasting it into a browser. Still have not found a way to autostart the photos application in slideshow mode but will keep looking.

I've done some searching on UHH and on the web and I'm having difficulty locating viewer software with the following capabilities:

1) Does not require loading the application and generating a new .exe file every time I want to change the content of the slideshow. I want to drop and remove files from a network folder and have the viewer just display the images in the folder in a random fashion. The recommendations that I've seen on UHH all require that you load the software, make edits to add or delete images and generate a new slide show executable.

2) It must work with a network rather than local folder as my images are on a NAS on my network. The Windows screen saver would be a candidate except it does not support images on network drives. They must be local to the computer the screen saver is executing on.

I found the issue. When the D3400 names the file, it puts the .jpg extension in upper case(JPG). Apparently, the Android texting application is not smart enough to determine that upper case is equivalent to lower case.
There appears to be no way to change this in the camera. Guess I'll start searching for alternative texting applications for Android.

Jpg images transferred to an Android phone via Snapbridge cannot be attached to a text message. The error message is "Unsupported file format" however these are jpg images and they can be viewed in Photo Gallery on the phone exactly as sent from the D3400. Other jpg images on the phone can be successfully attached to text messages. The D3400 images can be attached to emails successfully.

Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.

I tried mirror lockup and the result was the same. The LiveView image is definitely clearer and has greater contrast than the actual image. I also tried the same test using flash with the same result.

Thanks for your insight. I've read the pages in the manual that you mentioned. What I took away is that there may be auto focus issues in LiveView depending on the scene. That is not the issue I'm having. The camera auto focuses in LiveView every time and produces sharp results when examining the LV image on the monitor while zoomed in. The problem occurs when I proceed to actually take the picture without refocusing from the focus setting in LV. The focus setting that produced a clear image in LiveView does not produce as clear an image in the actual picture when viewed on the monitor zoomed in to the same fov as when the scene was observed in LV. It's as if the camera is applying sharpening and contrast enhancement in LV that is not applied when the picture is taken and subsequently displayed on the monitor. As I mentioned this seems to happen with only one of my two lenses. Hopefully Santa is going to bring a third lens and I will have an opportunity to check that one as well.

The image in the VF appears clear but I'm not viewing the scene at any where near the magnification level that I'm viewing it while in LV on the monitor so I can't discern any difference from using the VF alone. I'll try mirror up release mode and see if it makes a difference.

If I leave LV on and take the picture, I get the same result. I noticed that the difference between LV and actual pic is minimal with the 24-70 F2.8. In fact I'm not sure there is a difference. But with the 16-35 F4G there is a definite difference.

Thanks for the heads-up. I just downloaded and installed RoboForm in Edge. It has some issues. It will not autofill web page forms. I have to manually invoke RoboForm and tell it to fill. Some websites will not fill at all. (Eg. RoboForm will not fill the login fields in Ugly Hedgehog). Hopefully future iterations of this extension will work better.

I've tried Edge and have experienced the same increase in speed that you noted. The main issue I have with Edge which keeps me from switching is that it does not support a critical Add-on for me which is Roboform.

I do use Edge to watch video's as it displays them at a higher resolution than FF is capable of at the moment.

Would appreciate feedback to help me understand what's happening.
I'm in the process of calibrating lenses to a D750 body. I've used both an angled focus chart and the DotTune method and found the DotTune method works better for me.

I noticed two things in this process..
1) I have the camera set to use the AE-L back button focus. If I manually defocus the lens and press the back focus button for less than a half second, the camera mis-focuses. If I press and hold the the back focus button for between 1 and 2 seconds, the camera focuses correctly. Not sure why this is happening.

2) I'm shooting at a target with the camera on a tripod and VR and AF are turned off. I manually focus to critical focus using LiveView. If I then shut LiveView off and take the picture, without refocusing, the actual image in the display is noticeably less sharp than the LiveView image was. Does LiveView apply any in-camera sharpening to the image and if so, is there a way to shut this sharpening off?

As [big-guy] pointed out, this is a rare scenario for me. I was able to get the shot after switching back to shutter-release AF. For future situations, I'm going to test to see if I can set one of the user-defined modes to keep all of my normal settings and shutter-release AF and then revert back to my usual 'A' mode to see if the focus moves back to the rear button. Thanks for all the replies and helpful suggestions.
