Very nice set. You nailed it and street is not easy to do. Being able to approach and gain the trust of those folks is the hardest part and even better is that you presented them in exactly the way they needed to be. Your post is impeccable. Thanks for sharing.

A full and enjoyable day: Morning in Pisa, afternoon in Lucca. From Viking: “Tuscany is known equally as the cradle of the Renaissance and a center of culinary delights and astounding wines. Throughout this emerald-green countryside dotted with cypress trees, endless delights unfold. Among them is Florence, a living museum of the Renaissance. Brunelleschi’s famous Duomo dominates the medieval cityscape—an architectural achievement. Another Tuscan treasure, the Square of Miracles, unfolds in Pisa. Here, a trinity of masterpieces—the Leaning Tower, Pisa Cathedral and Baptistery—comprise some of Europe’s finest art and architecture.”

We took a coach to Pisa, about a 30 minute drive from the port of Livorno, where we also spent that night. This is the only port where we stayed overnight in our 15 days on the ship.

I took the last 3 photos in July 1973 on our 11 week trip all over Europe. Note that I climbed to the top of the leaning tower for photos 8 and 9; 49 years later I didn’t think I had the knees for that.

My next post will conclude our visit to Pisa and start our tour of Lucca. My previous post can be found at https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-802752-1.html, while the first post of this series can be found at https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-801137-1.html

Timing is everything during the bloom. Lovely pictures from Ocotillo. I was planning to head that way this weekend but most everyone I've talked to has said that the bloom has already passed.

Sometimes getting lucky is the key to a good photograph. Great capture finding an owl in broad daylight. Be thankful for the little things.

You answered your own question. Get closer. Crop less.

Yes - you nailed it. First you're using an 24.2-megapixel APS-C sensor not bad but if you were shooting an R5 it would have made a difference. Second, I'm assuming you were all the way zoomed in at 400mm which with even a crop censor it's a reach. Shoot your subjects with distance and the capabilities of your camera/lens in mind.

I am not sure where the good is.

The skin color is way off every time. The background is often left B&W.

53 thread of this? Wow! You guys are patient.

Agreed! I posted something similar recently. Repetitive for sure.

Perfect timing. My walk about at the San Diego Safari Park yesterday with Pacific Photographic Society Meetup.

Thought this was kinda weird how these stumps rotted away in the water but makes for a interesting picture, almost forgot about this other one with a noisy goose.

Good addition to the Stump challenge
