Hi, I live in Oregon. Just few corrections. The bridge is called Astoria bridge and spans Columbia River. The last picture is not Mt. Bachelor but it is Mt. Hood.
The falls are named Multnomah Falls. The ship wreck is "Peter Iredale".
Welcome. The only think I would say is, if you want to be a serious photographer, you need to get camera that will take pictures in RAW, not just JPGs. If you shoot in raw it is like having roll of film in your camera. You will get lot better final results in post-processing. Good luck with your decision.
These days, the newest Photoshop is "Photoshop CC" which is a subscription based product. With the subscription you will also get Adobe Lightroom which is a cataloging and developing software. The subscription is approximately $9.00 per month in US. Depends where you live. Just Google Adobe and you will see all the software they offering.
If you save the file as PSD the layers will be preserved in a Large file. But you can open it any time and adjust the layers again.
