I second John's suggestions.
I have used this lens for over a year now and am very happy with the results. One minor down side I have experienced with this lens is if I do not have it locked shut, it tends to unwind when it is aimed downward. I easily resolved this issue with an inexpensive rubber band type brake by Lensband.
I have used them several times in the last few years, and have never been disappointed in their service.
Another factor could be from activating "lens correction." Activating this function takes a lot of memory which frequently makes subsequent image adjustments slow and jerky. This lens correction step should take place toward the end of image adjustments.
HI DAVE, I HAVE BEEN USING THE EPSON R 3000 FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW AND FIND IT TO BE VERY GOOD. I ALSO GET GOOD DEALS ON PAPER AT "ITSUPPLIES.COM"
I have been using the Sony NEX 7 for over a year now and have been very happy with the pics that I get. I have the Zeiss 1,8/24 Prime, the Sony 3.5-6.3/18-200 lenses and the Metabones adapter for some of my old Canon lenses.
ON SUNNY SNOW DAYS I USUALLY METER OFF THE BLUE SKY.
My wife and I just returned from Venice, and had a wonderful time. We think it is a city you should not miss, even if you only have a few days. The city does not smell, but has a lot of tourists and wonderful restaurants. You will have many opportunities to take beautiful pictures. Because your time is short there I suggest that you go to Google or some other site to look at pictures of the city. This way you will have some idea from the start where to shoot.
