Again I got lucky and had a hole in the clouds and a small hole in my tree canopy to get a few peek-a-boo shots of the Moon. The Moon was pretty low above the horizon and I could see some shimmering in the atmosphere but I took a few shots anyway...

Moon Info 09-01-2014:
27 degrees above the horizon; 210 degrees east of north; 45% illuminated; approximately 8:55 PM (20:55) USA - EST.

EXIF: Canon 60D + Tamron 150-600mm at 600mm + 1.4x Kenko Pro TC + 2.0x Kenko Pro TC; ISO 1250 @ 1/125th sec at f/14.0 (stopped down 1 stop from wide open); Tripod with Beike Gimbal Head; RF Camera Remote.

This 2X Maginifier is my latest addition to my Moon setup equipment... the magnifier in conjunction with my camera's LiveView gives me a 20x image size to focus on. I also use my lens stabilizer to reduce vibrations when I am focusing. My Red Dot aim sight/finder also makes it easy to find my target... no more sighting down the camera lens barrel trying to locate my target and then using the camera view finder. When working in the dark the camera view finder is very difficult to see through and you don't have any background guide markers to orient where you are pointing the camera.

I also have a heavy duty telescope tripod with an astronomy wedge attached. When I plan on working outside for an extended period I'll take the heavy duty tripod out. The wedge makes it easier to track the Moon with my camera setup.
