A polarizing ND filter may not be dark enough to get you a "long exposure". Depending on the light on the waterfall I usually need to use a darker filter than I can get just using a polarizing ND filter. Only taking a photo and checking whether the waterfall looks like you want will let you know what filter you need at that time.

You can buy tickets thru their website (https://www.kanarrafalls.com). They sell 150 per day so as to allow a nice visit for everyone. I don't know when you are going, but according to their website (FAQs) " MOST DAYS are currently selling out a week or more in advance so no tickets are currently available at the trailhead."

Take a look at Kanarra Falls. It is just north of the Kolob Section of Zion National Park. I was in a group that went there in early April.

Does anyone use Adobe Bridge? I don't use it and don't worry about updating it when it gets updated. My computer keeps bugging me until I break down and do the update. It made me curious if anyone uses it and if so, what for?

Camera bag with FF Canon, 4 lenses, filters, extra batteries. It goes into a lowepro bag. I have taken it to Charleston and Cancun on Delta and United and put it in their overhead bins, but there I made sure I had tickets that guaranteed me a space in the overhead.

I have never traveled on Southwest Airlines. I am going to the southwest in early spring and am considering travelling on Southwest Air. Of course, their "Wanna Get Away" fare is the cheapest route BUT since I have never traveled with them I have no idea about overhead space for my camera gear. I am certainly not going to check my gear. Has anyone traveled on Southwest on "Wanna Get Away" fare and had any good or bad incidents. If I need to go up to their next fare level, i might as well go United or American. Thanks for anyone's insight.

Thanks for all the advise. We were able to go to Mesa Verde and 4 corners a few years ago and have been to Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park several times.

Lokking fgor advsie from anyone who knows Colorado. My wife and I are going to take a trip to Colorado in late September. We already have plans to go on the Durango- Silverton Railroad and plan on going to Telluride , Montrose, Maroon Bells and Aspen. When we leave Durango, I am looking for advise on whether to go from Durango to Telluride via Silverton, Ouray, and Ridgway or going through Dolores and Rico. I also understand that Kebler Pass is very nice in the fall but the road is unpaved. Is the road suitable for an SUV (Toyota Highlander) or a 4 wheel drive vehicle needed? Any more advise on spots we need to see would be appreciated.

Thanks to everyone. I don't normally fill up any card before I download and erase the card, but when I not at home and on a multi day field shoot, I may download to my laptop but don't erase the card(s) until I get home to download the cards to my desktop. I also have multiple cards with me, but wondered what would happen if i was in the field, away from my extra card.
I had never noticed the information showing how many images each of the two cards could still be shot before. Thanks again for the info!

I am hoping someone can answer a question regarding what a Canon 5D Mark III does in the following situation:
In one card slot, I have a 32GB CF card,
the other slot has a 64GB SDXC card,
I am saving all photos to both cards as RAW files (back-ups).

When my CF card gets full, what happens?

Does the camera keep saving to the SD card only, does the camera show an error message telling me it can't save to both cards so it stops saving any picture and/or not taking any more photos until I put in a CF card with some capacity?

Hopefully I will recognize that my CF card has little or no more room and am able to put in anew card before I get to that place, but want to know what is going to happen if I am out in the middle of no where when/if this happens.

Thanks to all. I didn't want to put ANY lens in my checked baggage. Good to know that there are bags large enough to carry on that will contain my camera and lenses.

I haven't traveled with a large lens YET, but I can see that some time in the not so distant future, travelling by plane to a location when I will want to have a large lens with me. I have a sigma 150-600 lens and I am not sure how I would pack it. I have traveled with my camera and "normal" lens by plane and just carry all my gear in my camera back pack. If/when I go up to the Grand Tetons hoping to capture photos of animals, as an example, would you try to stuff your large lens into their back pack, or do you try to take another bag onto the plane, or wrap your lens up in clothes in your checked bags?

I am going to Lincoln, Nebraska at the end of the month. Does any one know of any places in the area I need to see/photograph while I am there?
