Yes, kinda seems that way.....
(I never bought anything Apple, don't plan on it either.)

"Kinda" is the operative word here. If you have no need of the integration the Apple system offers, then I agree with you, any Android phone will suffice for the average person and the added bonus is they are cheaper to buy than a comparable iPhone. However, if you need and make use of the system integration the Apple offers to its users, then the Apple world IS the place to be. Android, Windows, ChromeBook, Google just do not get the job done when it comes to how Apple can take data and instantly make that data available on any other Apple device you may own. The amount of time it saves me and other Apple users each day is valuable not to mention there is no need to re-enter data on multiple devices as you must when you own Android, Windows, ChromeBook, Google devices.

Used the droids for years, am very happy with the power management of the iPhone 14 that I have now.

I agree Jonyrot, but BebuLamar's issue is not with the iPhone but with the way the iPhone requires the user to use the "internet" to transfer data files into the iPhone. Specifically, having to use iCloud as the transfer medium to make the data transfer. By his own admission, BebuLamar has used the iPhone from iPhone 4 to iPhone 12 so we must assume he is very familiar with the OS operation. But, for him, the fact he is not familiar with the Android OS prevents him from switching to an Android OS phone even though he is of the opinion the Android OS file transfer method is superior. Superior, I suggest, means easier for him to use. Until such time as BebuLamar takes the plunge and buys an Android OS phone, he will continue to ask others if it is the correct thing to do.

The problem is that I have not used the Android phone and it may well be worse in other aspects. Not so much hardware wise but more on the OS. But I do know that I can transfer the files to the Android phone easily. I did have problem navigating the phone with the limited time I handle one.

Technology can be difficult to use at times, but unless you refuse to take the time to teach yourself how to use the new technology (in this case the Android OS) you will never get past the mental stumbling block you have built for yourself. Pickup a cheap Android phone, there are lots of them out there on your much-loved internet and learn how to use it. Youtube has many instructive videos on the various functions built into the Android OS. Try it you may like it. God hates a quitter.

I guess I have to get a smart phone now. I think I miss the GPS feature the most. It works much better than the stand alone GPS.
The company that I worked for issued Iphone to me so I have been using Iphone 4, 5, 6, 7 , 11 and the latest was 12. Now that I retired I don't have the phone any more. If I get the Iphone 14 it would be familiar because I have used the Iphones in the past. However, as I have been using the Iphone I hate Apple policy of restricting files transfer between a computer and the phone via cable. They want everything going thru the cloud and I hate that. So I am thinking of getting the Galaxy S23 but I have used the Android phone very little. I had an old Android tablet years ago but I am not familiar with the Android OS.
What would you suggest? I think I am leaning toward the Samsung but I am afraid it would be difficult to use. Although I have used the Iphone for years I still think it's difficult to use so never had an Android phone it may be too difficult for me?
I guess I have to get a smart phone now. I think I... (show quote)

Obviously, you hate the iPhone, so stop the bitching and buy an Android phone and transfer your files to your heart's content! Jeez Louise, it is an easy problem to solve, get the Android phone!

Suggest I-Phone 4, Galaxy S22 Ultra and Pixel 6. Top end phone cameras are unbeatable for travel once you grasp how best to use them.

I'm guessing, Joer you meant iPhone 14. I have an old iPhone 4 and the camera is crap by today's standards!

Was the '58 the first of the "X" frame GM cars? The "X" frame design was a radical design change from the traditional ladder frame design that subsequently was proved not to be safe in a side impact collision.

I was the executor of my dad's estate when he passed away. For me, having a probate attorney to navigate all the legal issues, file all the necessary court documents and run interference with feuding heirs was a life-saver. In California, a will does not prevent probate. Probate provide creditors a 90 day window to file claims against the estate. After 90 days, the attorney filed documents with the court to close probate and then his assets were distributed. If a creditor failed to file a claim within the probate window, they lost the ability to claim later. While a living trust avoids probate, it doesn't protect the estate from creditors.

It sounds like the laws around wills, probate and trusts vary from state to state.

Add the complication if the person who dies has no will, then the complications really pile up! Or, the deceased was not living in the same country when the deceased died as the country where the deceased had his/her will and related documents legally prepared and filed.

Nice set. Scary, we have some in WI, actually, get it from both fires in Canada.

According to the Canadian Forest Service, there are approximately 135 to 140 forest fires burning in Canada and approximately 100 to 107 burning in the USA! We even have one forest fire burning near the Arctic Circle in the Yukon Territories of northwestern Canada.

The US has had a bunch of forest fires (ie. California). You are not alone.
I'll admit, forest fires in Canada are very rare. Maybe it's because of the 85% item being SO much lower.

As a Canadian, I can tell you with certainty that forest fires in Canada are NOT rare. Right now, here in British Columbia, we are experiencing the worst forest fire on record. Any area in Canada that has forests is subject to wildfires each year. Fire season in Canada starts on May 1st each year and as we are experiencing abnormally high temperatures and low rainfall in the forest regions, both the quantity and severity of forest fires currently burning exceed what is usually experienced for all of the annual fire season which ends on October 31st each year. The Canadian weather service forecasts a hot dry summer for almost all of the forested regions in Canada this year.

I have two Miatas one is the special edition and I have to Nikon cameras. The Ferraris are nice but only to look at.
Where do you drive a car like that to really enjoy it?
Bruce.

Take your Miata to Naples, Italy and drive to Bari, Italy via highway E842/E55 a distance of approximately 160 miles. Once you are about twenty miles east of Naples put your foot to the floor and hold on for the best wild ride for the next 135 miles, kill the fun approximately twenty five miles before reaching Bari on the east coast of Italy. This stretch of road is a mountain highway with lots of twisties to test your driving skill and the automobile's capability. I have done this road twice, once from west to east and once from east to west. One piece of advice should you decide to test your mettle, if starting in the west, drive the road in the afternoon as that will keep the sun at your back. Obviously, if you choose to drive east to west, then start in the morning shortly after sunup and that will keep the sun at your back during the trip. Enjoy!

I guess it's a good reason to raise our taxes again. The earth has been recycling these changes for billions of years and will continue long after our little blink of an eye stay here. Our politicians talk about rising water and Fla. and N.Y. will be gone but dam if they all don't buy the ocean from properties. A joke in IMO.

You are correct, it is not a GOOD reason to raise taxes, BUT, it is about the only method polititians have of getting the population's attention to an ongoing problem. Global temperaures are rising and that is a fact you can deny or ignore, but it is still a fact and that fact is having a impact on our planet. When the scientists talk about the effects of rising global temperatures, they are NOT talking about the global effect it has on you and me. Why, because our life cycle is too short in terms of a global or planet life cycle. Scientists are talking about the global warming effects that take place over centuries. Certainly, Florida or New York on the east coast or Seattle, WA or Vancouver, British Columbia are not going to disappear in the next year or two, or ten or twenty years time due to global warming. However, return to this planet in two to three hundred years and the topography of our coast lines will be consideraly different. So, do not worry about polititians of today bying ocean front properties on the east coast or west coast, north coast or south coast of North America, as they will be Ok, and if not, they will get an insurance payout most likely!
