GD- I usually just wait till I get home from a trip to load the images onto the computer to view them. I haven't gotten into FB sharing or the like. I want to keep my computer time down as much as I can!

Oh yes, that makes sense..........thanks

Just curious: why no computer? Once you have saved the photos, then what?

In my opinion, you would want 1 catalog in LR. I recommend you read more about cataloging in LR because the best approach to cataloging would be to keep the original images cataloged by date taken (with keywords for future sorting). You can create unique "Collections" that will allow you to "store" raw in a separate "collection set".....

If you set things up right, your original images will not be physically moved because LR keeps track of folders and collections for you.

As I said, I strongly recommend further reading on cataloging before you get too deep into LR.

Glad you figured it out.........

For a very Lightroom-specific question such as yours, I always recommend asking the question at the Lightroom Forum. A concentration of LR gurus are there most days.

Before you pass judgement on what others post, why don't you post some of your own work first?

Yes, we need an example of the level of photography you are referring to.......

raw images will look poor to the eye because they have not been processed. They will also be much larger and make emailing difficult.

I sold my Fuji XE2 and lenses and just shoot my X100T.

If you plan to keep your Nikon stuff, the X100T is the perfect compliment.

It took me a few attempts over a few years to finally grasp the terms and processes for storage and handling of images. I tried Photoshop Elements and gave up.....came back a year later and finally got the Scott Kelby book and spent weeks carefully reading through and understanding one concept at a time............

Bottom line; it takes an investment in your time and attention.

All the best, George

Do you operate your laptop outside in the direct sun?

I was in 95 degree temps a couple of weeks ago for a week and my laptop seemed normal.

I shoot a Fuji X100T and heartily recommend (as noted above) regular reading at the main Fuji Forum:
http://www.fujix-forum.com/

Lots to learn about Fuji X cams there. The settings and controls of all the Fuji X Cams are very similar, so if you learn one, you can jump to others relativity easily.

You can probably find a good tripod for under $200 on sale (or special), but you'll need a decent ball head that will cost at least 100-150 for acceptable quality.

Also, in that price range, you should look for aluminium, not carbon fiber

my 2 cents

Maybe try adapting a couple of your favorite Nikon lenses to the Fuji

It sounds more like a computer problem than an Elements problem
