This garden, located in Golden Gate Park, was a gift to San Francisco by the queen of the Netherlands over 100 years ago. Dutch bulb growers continue to supply tulip and other spring- flowering bulbs. The area itself is a little gem, easily accessible to people of all ages and abilities. In March it bursts into floral life and teems with visitors.
These photos were made on a recent Sunday, one of the first glorious weekends of the year. As you see I was hardly the only photo-taker in this mass of folks out to see and to be seen, to enjoy life , beauty and each other.
Enjoying the spring blooms
A cozy spot for an outing for two
Floral attire in a floral nook
Love amidst the lovely blooms
See my pretty picture?
Looks like both these young ladies got close-ups
More close-ups
More beauties in the sun
A few of my faves from Car Talk:
Their optician: C.F. Eye Care
Amanda B. Recondwith (I can't recall her position)
Indian meteorologist: Luke Autabindo
Wow! Very nice shots of bees at work.
Wow! Excellent shots of bees at work!
Thanks for posting another very enjoyable (and educational) set! Like many others who commented here, I appreciate and look forward to your very readable narratives. These enable me to enjoy vicariously the many fabulous trips you and your wife have taken. Your personal style of writing is, in itself, a pleasure.
