I have this lens and it works on my full frame Nikon D810 with little to no vignetting at the long end (16mm) of range; there is some at the widest end (11mm). Just fyi

There are several beam/sound triggers available but I like a challenge and decided to design and built a light beam/sound trigger. Being a retired electronics engineer made this possible. My primary purpose was to do water drop/splash photography. Placing a light beam trigger to activate when the drop was about 18 inches above the water pool provided more than enough time to cover the camera shutter delay. I had the flash triggered by the camera in manual mode with the camera shutter release triggered from a cable connected to my adjustable time delay box. Camera on a tripod set to manual mode, manual focus. With this set up I was able to work in low ambient light since the flash, even at 1/32 power, was able to dominate over the ambient light. I made an adjustable time delay circuit that triggered from the time the drop passed a led sensor. Sound sensing was also included but I have not used that feature yet. Obviously, you will need something to give a trigger signal at least the amount of the camera shutter delay for this to work as it should. For example, to capture the burst of a balloon, I would drop a match stick pin dart from 2 feet above the balloon and use the led beam trigger just after the dart release. I would then fine tune the adjustable time delay circuit to match the time to impact of the dart with the balloon. This way you get reliable repeatable shots of what you want.

If you need sound as the trigger, then one needs to generate a sound (or light signal) a few hundred milliseconds ahead of the time when the shot is to be taken. The sound of the event to be photographed will normally not be useful as a trigger since the camera will trigger a few hundred milliseconds later and for many events, this will be too late.

Good luck to all with automatic triggered shots.

Good luck.

I tried a wrist strap but found I tended to get cramps in my wrist if I did much shooting. Around the neck is best for me.

Hi Tom,

I had an earlier offer and if it goes through, I will honor it. Should know by Friday. If that sale does not go through, I will let you know.

Nikon 28mm f2.8 AIS lens in near mint condition; see pictures. This is the "full" AIS lens, not the E series version. It is a manual focus lens for those not familiar with it. It produces tack sharp images with low distortion that are outstanding with great microcontrast and color saturation. Aperture and focus are smooth. Aperture blades are snappy and have no oil. Front and rear elements have no scratches or marks. No fungus or mold or haze. Interior has a slight amount of small dust particles as do virtually all lenses that have been used; it has no impact on image quality or operation.

Ken Rockwell loves it: https://kenrockwell.com/nikon/28f28ais.htm
and states:
"There is no sharper manual-focus wide angle lens made by Nikon, and it is the only Nikon wide angle, along with the 15mm f/3.5, that is completely free from barrel distortion at ordinary distances. Optically this is an almost perfect lens, and one of the most perfect lenses you can get to fit a Nikon camera."

I am reducing the number of Nikon lenses I have, otherwise I would not be parting with it. Comes with front and rear caps.

$190 net of shipping and/or Paypal. Send me a PM if interested.

My opinion is there is no perfect glass element or filter. Every glass element, either internal to the lens or as an added filter, has some level of imperfection that tends to degrade image quality. With this as a viewpoint, I like low element count prime lenses. I shoot Nikon and there are some older Nikon prime lenses that produce excellent IQ even on modern DLSRs.

We went to Moab and these two parks about a year ago. Go late in the afternoon for best light on Delicate Arch. There will be many people there. It is about a 3 mile round trip hike with significant up elevation on the way. I sat on a rim that looks down towards Delicate Arch (where you first get a view of it coming up the trail); set up a small tripod and took a series of images spaced in time over a 10 minute interval, all at the same exposure. You can then clone out the people and make a composite of just the Arch, if that is your desire. I left in my final processed image in one lady who was standing back from the Arch taking a photo of her girl friend who was under the Arch. It gives a nice sense of scale. If you like, you can search UHH and look at my posting of some images taken there.

Canyonlands was also nice, but for my taste, Arches was number 1. I went to Mesa arch a few hours after sunrise and got some nice shots, with a lot fewer people there. The ranger laughed when I asked if many came at sunrise for the shot. He said there was a steady stream of car headlights coming for that spot starting well before sunrise.

Enjoy.

I love the lighting especially on her upper body.

Personal taste only, I would have liked to see her right leg with less light, especially the upper leg, in order not to draw focus of the viewer away from her upper body due to the relatively bright areas on her leg. She appears to have a nicely proportioned waist (small relatively) and if her right elbow were flared outward just a bit, it would have let the viewer see the contour/outline of her waist better on the right side. I realize this is all hindsight and it is often difficult to spot these types of considerations in real time.

The above notwithstanding, very nice work.

I tried a similar wrist support for my DLSR. I gave up as I tended to get cramps in my wrist especially while holding the camera in the shooting position. Just hanging from my wrist was okay. Since I sometimes want to take an extra lens or two and sometimes a speedlight, I went for a backpack. If I just want the camera with one attached lens, then I use a conventional over the shoulder strap. But people are very different. Glad the wrist strap worked for the OP.

Nice compositions.

We were there in April 2017 and I recall the land as being lighter than as seen in most of your posted shots. In the shots I took of Canyonland National Park, the land was lighter than in your series. Either a difference of exposure or perhaps applied processing could account for this difference. Without a ND filter, hard to get the sky to be as dramatic as in your shots and still keep the land exposed properly SOOC.
