Include photos of the entire plant including foliage, stems and limbs for easier ID. RogStrix has the correct ID - Adenium aka desert rose. A picture of the swollen base (caudex) would make the ID very easy.

Adenium obesum?

Definitely an Adenium (desert rose).

Pictures of the entire plant with the caudex would ID it in a heartbeat.

Max speed of BT is ~2Mb/sec, while most cameras (and CamRanger) are 100Mb/sec.

Good to know and makes sense why we shouldn't use BT (unless it is for battery saving).

The Canon app allows you to choose what kind of connection you want. I found that Bluetooth is not used for displaying the scene. I therefore always use the WiFi option. I guess it drains the battery quicker but well worth it. I just have to remember to always take extra batteries with me.

I do not get "visuals" on my phone if I use the Bluetooth option. If I use WiFi instead, I get visual images. I have the R5, but I don't think that should matter as Canon Camera Connect works on my 80D, SX-700, and SX-60. I had the CamRanger for my older Canon cameras and rarely used it. It is now a $300 dust collector.

Getting tech support from Spectrum is a skill that very few have learned. They have "robots" answering their phones. When I finally spoke to a human yesterday about reducing my cable bill, he was in the "Retention Center." I had a bad connection to room with lots of people talking at the same time. The man had a heavy southern accent, spoke fast, and kept putting me on hold. His final solution was the Essential TV package for $104/month. It didn't include any broadcast stations - ABC, CBS, NBC, etc. The $80 Internet charge would probably be added to that. His main concern was getting me to add Spectrum mobile.

That sounds like an oxymoron - "heavy southern accent, spoke fast". Usually they are slow, but some have adopted the Yankee speed demon on speech. I'm in Atlanta and most are average speaking but if you get in South Georgia, it is like another world down there.

My mother is on Spectrum and her internet and cable bill is atrocious. I set her up with Roku and pay for Hulu and Netflix for her, but she insists on keeping the cable package. I think her bill is over $220 today. I cannot convince her that all she likes is on streaming today. It would cut out $140 or more of her monthly bill. Their mortgage when they bought the house over 50 years ago was less than $50 a month. My dad is probably turning over in his grave.

That is an Asiatic lily. Daylilies are different.

Nice photo BTW.

How many photos did you upload? I wonder if the website is limited because your download speed sounds very fast. Have you done a speed test?

I did two photo books on Shutterfly yesterday using full size images from my R5. To upload around 80 photos took a couple minutes. I'm on AT&T fiber.

hcmcdole, Sounds like an excellent app. for my R6. Thanks!

I was wrong about changing the mode using the app - I have to change it at the camera (found that out last night while playing with it). I also found out that continuous shutter doesn't work using the app.

I could use continuous shutter with the old Canon remote timer (TC-80N3) with my old 40D and 7D on a tripod to take hummingbird shots and my dog catching a Frisbee in mid-air.

I use the app for taking landscape photos while using the Lee Big Stopper filter these days. It comes in handy for group shots if I am in the same group picture as well.

I set my R5 to back focus and haven't changed it. Using CCC, I can change shooting modes, drive mode, focus mode, focus point, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, etc. from the app.

Try it, you'll like it.

Pair with your smartphone and use the "Canon Camera Connect" app. No wires and fairly complete control of camera. Pairing is a bit of a fuss, but once completed, you can put camera in airplane mode when you don't need remote control. Turn off airplane mode when you want to use remote shooting. Easy-peasy.

I think that is a Clematis, not a Sasanqua. Beautiful red color for a Clematis.

The mystery continues!

I just downloaded one, and it didn't have "FB," just a very long string of numbers.

Click on the picture in FB (some will go to an article though) on your phone. Click on the 3 dots when the picture opens and do "save to phone". This is why the FB_ prefaces the saved image.

Here are some pictures to help. I did the screenshots on my phone, edited in PS on my computer, and saved with some borders, blurring, etc.

I found this post of a Mustang on FB (I was on my S23 Ultra)

I clicked on the photo itself and got to this.

I then clicked (touched) the 3 vertical dots and get this.

I touched 'Save to Phone" and voila, I get this:

Finally I got a snapshot (screen print) of the folder that this image was in.

I found this post of a Mustang on FB (I was on my S23 Ultra)

(Download)

Click on the photo itself. Get the post to show and click on the vertical dots.

(Download)

Click Save to Phone.

(Download)

Here is the saved image by itself.

Here is the folder structure on the phone. Note the name of the file in the thumbnail?

Have any of you tried Microsoft’s Phone Link? It lets you sync your cellphone and computer. I wonder how necessary it is and if there are downsides.

I use it often to answer and make calls when my phone is on the other side of the room. Texting is an iffy thing though. I find texting photos from the computer's huge image file system wonderful, but the phone is best when it is tethered and logged into.

Mystery solved. The guy he's traveling with took pictures and posted them on Facebook. My son took them from FB and sent them to me. That explains why they don't have the EXIF data that his other pictures have. If you're familiar with Irfanview, you know that pressing I gives you some info, and pressing E gives you more. The FB pictures show only the I information.

I told you so.
