Thanks - would you go with the kit lens (24-120) or something else as your everyday/landscape lens, for the D750?

So I guess you would not "not purchase" the D750 because of this issue?

So, lots of debate here... anyhow, anyone think Nikon will come up with something better than the D750 next year; if not, think I'll be going with the D750

That was my same conclusion as well based on technical research on the web but then there is the Nikon 24-70 mm f2.8 which is apparently the crown jewel, as reflected in its price...

Was debating on good lens and size for trip to Glacier Park in Canada, maybe the 105 max would be a little short for this...

Thanks - based on Rockwell's pics in that link it seems quite clear that the Full Frame is taking better overall quality pics, unless today's DXs are that much better when the comparison was done long ago...

Thanks for all your input... I've taken pictures for years, back when you put in the 35mm film and selected your ISO film... I've had a few digital point and shoots as well. When the D7000 came out this was my first expensive digital purchase and I really didn't know the difference between a DX vs a FX type of digital camera.

I just wanted to know if the FX quality of camera and related lenses was worth the "upgrade" costs - i.e., getter better overall pictures. I plan on keeping the camera for the long-term along with the FX lenses that I might purchase and, at present, I do not have a significant investment in my D7000 or lenses.

I have the D750 with the 24-120 F4 and I have found the lens to be excellent in all respects. The 24-70 F2.8 would be very frustrating for me as a walkaround -- not nearly enough reach, not to speak of the extra weight.

Looks like you also have/had the Nikon D7000 and now have the D750 - are you happy with the upgrade? Do you think you are getting better quality images with the D750 vs the D7000?

Okay... there was some pro-photo guy named Tony on u-tube that didn't think much of the kit lens (who was pretty convincing) and was recommending something else instead, I think, a Sigma 24-105 art lens...

Sounds good too but the Kit lens has some not so good reviews, so I thought about just getting the body and getting the Nikkon 24-70mm f2.8 instead... But this is about a $4k investment...

Well, I am somewhat of a beginner. I have a Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 that I use as my every day lens. I also still have the kit lens (18-105) that came with the D7000 and a 55-300 kit type lens.

Pics are mainly family and landscape.

One reason I'm considering an upgrade is that I have a friend who has the Nikon 810 w/ the Nikon 24-70mm f2.8 who is getting some really awesome pictures...
