I would agree with Indiana. I have the D850, along with the Nikon 14-24 F/2.8, 24-70 F/2.8, and the 70-200 F/4. I debated getting the 70-200 F/2.8, but the reviews and tests showed the performance of the two to be virtually identical. And since I didn't need 2.8 on this lens I opted to save some money and weight. I had the Tamron 24-70 F/2.8 previously, but testing it against the Nikon version there was no comparison. I shoot mostly landscapes so the the two wider zooms are my default choices most of the time. I have been very happy with this array and it comes in just below your $10,000 budget.

I do still have it. As far as I can tell, it is in excellent condition. If you need some pictures of the lens or taken by it, let me know.

Hi Tom. I'm in California and up in a cabin in the mountains until tomorrow afternoon. I can ship it Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning at the latest. 2 day priority mail should cost around 10 to 15 dollars. Do you live in Nebraska or just visiting? I will be in Omaha on the 17th.

I have always had the same problem with Costco. I just make a copy of the image file and lighten the exposure a stop or so. Then the print looks pretty much as expected. Another interesting thing I have noticed. Over the past few years I have had quite a few magazine cover photos on California Fly fisher. The magazine title is bright yellow. The editor always sends me the file they use to print the cover as my buddies who pose for the photos like to have a framed print as a memento. On my computer screen the colors look exactly like the printed magazine, but in the Costco prints the title always looks orange while the rest of the colors looks pretty normal.

I bought this combination in 2014 as I wanted to move up from my point and shoot to the flexibility of a DSLR. It is a great pair and I managed to sell a number of magazine cover photos taken with the camera and lens. But after a couple of years I found I wanted more pixels and dynamic range so I switched to Nikon and the D750 followed by the D850. I rarely use the Canon anymore unless I am traveling and just don't want the hefty weight of the Nikon gear so I decided it is time to let go. In addition to the camera and lens I also have four batteries and a three way leveling cube that fits in the camera hot shoe which are included. I also have the Canon EF-S 55-250 F/4.5-5.6 IS II lens.

All three are in great shape and I will sell them individually or as a set. The lowest prices I have found online are $265 for the camera body, $170 for the 18-135 lens, and $100 for the 55-250. This a great combo for anyone just moving beyond point and shoot and I will sell the entire group for $500 including the batteries and level.

I was just there last week at the end of a trip through eastern Canada. I had seen some beautiful shots online of the lighthouse, but the key was having just the perfect clouds at sunrise to give deep colors to the sky. The one afternoon I was there happened to be completely clear, which leads to somewhat boring shots. If I had more time I would have been there right at sunrise as it appears that you can get nice shots of the sun rising over the ocean next to the lighthouse. In the afternoon I found that the left side (when facing the lighthouse) was the best view. I attached a copy of that shot.

I'm not sure, but perhaps that is the case.

I decided to try out Helicon Focus for focus stacking on my D850 and have run into an issue. When I tried to open two raw files the program says "failed to open image". However, when I use the jpeg versions of the images it works fine. The website says that the D850 is supported. I'm sure some of you have used the program with the D850 and was hoping you might have a suggestion. Thanks.

Camera Raw is a great tool and I do most of my editing there. If you haven't used the vignette tool it is amazing. It let's you select any area of the photo and make adjustments to exposure, color, pretty much everything. It's dodging and burning on steroids.

Sorry about any confusion. As my first sentence indicates, they sent me a new copy of the G1, which is the one I am selling. I wish they had replaced it with a G2 as I could sell that version at a higher price.

Due to a warranty issue, Tamron recently sent me a brand new copy of the G1 version of this lens. However, being the pixel peeper that I am, I bought a new Nikon 24-70 lens to go with my D850. The Tamron is a nice lens, and at the center I can't see any difference in sharpness. Of course, the Nikon version is very pricey, which is why it took me a few years to be willing to spend the money on it. In any event, I am selling the Tamron to offset a little of the cost of the Nikon. Other than a few test shots in my back yard the lens has not been used. The price for both the G1 and G2 is $1199 new, and I would like to get $700 for this one, but I will entertain reasonable offers.

My wife and I are heading to Montreal in a couple of weeks and will be driving across eastern Canada to Prince Edward Island and then down the coast of Maine to Portland. Any suggestions for good photo opportunities along our route would be welcome. Thanks.

MY first full frame camera was the D750 I bought 2 years ago when I switched from my Canon T4i. I researched cameras for 6 months and it seemed that the D750 was an amazing camera at a good price. I have not been disappointed other than a recurring problem with spots on the sensor. I have sent it in several times, and while Nikon insists that it is not oil spots (like the D610) I believe that it is. I recently went to a camera expo at my local camera shop and they were offering free cleanings. The technician confirmed that the spots were indeed oil. These spots appeared the first day I used the 750 and they quickly reappear after a cleaning. My Canon T4i never showed a single spot in two years of use, and my new D850 hasn't shown a single spot in three months of use.

Aside from that, the image quality of the 750 is superb. I have the 24-120 lens and it takes excellent pictures, nearly as good at 24mm as my Nikon 14-24 F/2.8. I am going to be testing out the Nikon 24-70 F/2.8 to see if it is worth upgrading from the 24-120. The price difference is very large, so I will need to be quite impressed before I make that upgrade.

Actually, the G1 also has image stabilization. It's the Nikon version in which only the new one has it. I tested the Tamron G2 at a local camera store recently but didn't see a big difference in image quality. I wish I had as $1200 for the Tamron is much less expensive than $2400 for the Nikon.
