If you are shooting action photos than the problem as opposed
To landscape or stills the problems solution is more difficult. Better sensors, higher speed lenses, noise reduction in pp, lower iso, and patience to find the proper mix of all of the above.

You are still not getting it. I can show you different scenarios where the d500 is the camera to use. Dynamic range and low light are separate issues. Please don't misquote me to try to make your agenda. The two cameras are different and in low light the d500 has less noise and the 810 has better dynamic range. Focusing is better with the d500. This is not a debate. It's a fact. In low light indoor sports such as basketball and roller derby the d500 takes it home. Landscapes, portraits, and studio work the 810 excells.

Your understanding is also very limited. I have a d810 and a d500. The 500 clearly is better than the 810 in low light. You neglect to see other factors such as the expeed 5 in the d500. Ive been shooting over 40 years and honestly think you should reexamine your statement. Better yet try shooting with the 500. See for yourself

Fact full frame vs crop. What lenses do you have? Is weight a factor?

Quick answer.. the 7200 is the better camera. The 7200 has 8 more mp. Better low light. The key to basketball is 2.8 glass or better. 24-70 and 70-200. I have shot in those types of venues for years.

Fast lens, Good sensor, quick focusing!
This can only be determined by your pocketbook.

Best answer. Shoot whatever your priority is. Your subject and your purpose is your correct answer. Everyone is correct but not always considering the creative importance of the photographer in different situations. Hopefully, this answer offends no one and satisfies everyone. We know the rules now break um. LOL

First choice is a lens. Period. Focal length is a decision only you can make. If you plan on shooting close and want a 60mm Macro then your dof will be limited. However adding a flash or some type of light allows you a higher f stop. Better DOF. Crop sensor vs Full frame another factor to consider. Another thought is do you want diversity with the lens to maybe shoots some bugs? In the end you may buy all these accessories but the Image Quality is best with a lens of good quality. I know I seem cut and dry but I have wasted money on a lot of different techniques and found its all about the Glass. So save up and its cheaper in the long run.

Hope this helped

Dont spin your wheels. Its best to bring both on a vacation. Whats the big deal. If something happens to one you have a back up. I was shooting in Costa Rica on vacation and dropped my camera and it was in dire need of repair. This is not something you should spend too much time thinking about. Why ruin a vacation if something goes wrong. A second camera body on a trip is always a plus.
