Just had this Discussion in another Topic yesterday, I just bought a Bridge Camera Lumix package, a DC-FZ80 from Walmart Online, because Walmart had a Lower Price than Amazon's DC-FZ80 Package & under $500.00

The DC-FZ80 is a 18-2000 Zoom, 18 Megapixel & most of the Same features that I have on my Lumix DC-ZS70 package I bought from Amazon in November 21.

The Difference between the 2 Lumix Models...

DC-FZ80 is a Bridge Camera, No rear Swivel Screen, has same Features as my Pocket DC-ZS70, except the DC-FZ80 has a Multiple Image Mode where you can put up to 3 Images on a Single Image.

18 Megapixel

No back Swivel Screen

A 18-2000 Zoom

Hot shoe Flash outlet

DC-ZS70 is 20 Megapixel, Fold Up Back Screen, about Zoom Details I don't have, but it's good & Pocket Camera it Fits Nicely in my Shirt, or my Jacket Pocket.

Lumix Ended Production Last Year on that Model as I found out in a Online Article.

Never had the ZS-50, I bought the DC-ZS70 in November 21 to Replace my Stolen Canon Powershot SX150 a week before, the DC-ZS70 has a Longer Zoom than my Powershot SX150 & Fold Out Back Screen & Creative Filter Features better that my Powershot SX150.

The Pocket SX150 was a Cult to me & beside the Long Zoom, it had 2 Creative Filter Features i Liked... Color Swap & Color Accent, I had them on my Canon SX50 also & only Color Accent on my Now 2 Lumix Cameras.

& I bought another Powershot SX 150 on eBay just before I bought my Lumix Package the day after Easter.

You mention your Lumix SX50 which fell and was damaged. Are you meaning a Lumix ZS50 like mine? The SX50 is a canon. If you had the ZS50 and replaced with a ZS70 can you comment on the comparison as I'd be interested.

No...it was my Canon SX50 that has been out of Commission for over 2 Weeks.

I, also, have an SX50. Which model Lumix did you get? I'd consider it if my SX50 goes.

I bought a Lumix DC-FZ80 package from Walmart.com

It was the Lowest Bidder than Amazon's DC-FZ80 Package under $500.00.

It came with a Case W/Shoulder Strap, a Flash/Digital Slave Light Flash, with Bracket, A Video Flash, also with A Bracket, a 12 Inch Tripod that Bends, a Kit Cleaning Kit, but No 55mm Filter.

The Lumix itself has 18-2000 Zoom Lens, No Fold Out Back Screen like my Pocket Lumix & Swivel (NOW Not Operating SX50), 18 Megapixels (2 Short Megapixels than my Pocket DC-ZS70, which that Camera has 20 Megapixels).

It also has one Feature... that's a Double Exposure Mode.

I haven't Took it out & gave it its Run Yet, still Practicing on Camera & Knowing it's Features

My SX50 Died on Me 2 Weeks ago when I was Putting the Charged up Battery in & I forgot to Zip up the Case & it Fell out of the Case on the Floor & the Focusing was Out of Whack & when I Zoomed, it Shut Down, I guess the Gears Jammed up!

After given advice on UHH on how to Repair my SX50, I decided to buy the Lumix Bridge Camera, DC-FZ80 & got a Package like I did in November 2021, Buying the Pocket DC-ZS70, to Replace my Stolen Canon Powershot SX150, which got Stolen a Week Before, I got a Package Deal from Amazon, Ran me Over $300 Bills, but that Came with a Case, 16 Megapixel Card, a Card Reader & an envelope to Download Photo Creative Books.

& what's Irony... I Bought a Replacement Canon Powershot 150 from eBay for under $50.00 just before I Placed my Wal-Mart Order the Day After Easter & I use it for Backup for my Pocket Lumix DC-ZS70 & it was Delivered in 3 Days, the DC-FZ80 Package was Delivered in 2 Days.

Similar to what Happen to my SX50 Bridge, Lens Motor Died, had to Replace it with a Lumix Bridge Camera 2 Weeks ago, it's somewhat better than the SX50.

I'd use Lumix also...I Bought a DC-ZS70 in November of 21, to Replace my Stolen Canon Powershot 150 & it has more Creative Filter Features, a Flip Up Back Screen & 20 Megapixels & More.

Although Lumix Discontinued the Model Last Year to what I heard, it's a Damn Good Pocket for Around $300.00 & is Slightly Smaller than my Old Powershot 150, it's done wonders for me since I got it in November 21.

I'm so "loyal" to my Canon 5DII that I want to be sure I'll be using "it" for many years to come. And by "it", I mean even a second Canon 5DII body. So, off to Craig's List I went. I had to be patient, but within a week or so, I found someone wanting to sell a 5DII body. The price was fair, so we picked a local restaurant to meet. We went during a "slow" time (mid-day) and sat at a front window. So, along with our soda orders, I used his camera body and my lenses. I took many shots outside the window and looked at the image. I was happy with it, and bought it.

Oh, I did it a second time. Used Craig's List, met at a restaurant, and I now have two "back up" 5DII bodies.

By the way, I wanted to be sure I was meeting a real person, and a good one. So before we met, I asked several dumb questions, ones I already knew the answers to. If he/she could not answer it well, then scratch that 'seller'. I'll do that to anyone I plan to purchase what they are selling.

KEH visits our local camera store a couple of times a year and we all take our used equipment over to have it appraised and they purchase. Last October I took all my DSLR lenses, all professional level, latest models, and in like new condition, approx $18,000 worth to sell. They offered me $1700 or a $2000 store credit. I said "No thank You" Others who were lined up to go through the same procedure, all left in discuss. I tried Marketplace but ended up with a bunch of scammers. I gave up and kept the lenses. They now back up my new Z9 and Z711 systems. But not sure how stop sell them in the future.

You couldn't sell on eBay? You could Set a Bidding Price for your Equipment.

FYI, one of my closest veteran pro friends in New Jersey, who has decades of award-winning professional work to his name, still shoots with his Nikon D2s, so he sees them and they are seen by his subjects every day. Again it seems you just aren't around enough variety of professional photographers, many of whom DON"T own the latest flagship model, and yet they still are relevant and still make their living.

And none of their subjects say to them, "oh stop, you can't take my photo because you dont have the latest flagship cameras and therefore you aren't relevant " LOL

Sell the Broken ones on eBay for Parts, won't get much, but people looking to Repair a Similar Nikon Or Metz Flash & can't find Parts, could use the Parts from your Non working Flashes if you sell them on eBay.

Wow...

This is an Interesting Subject.

I've Owned Nikon, Pentax, Canon & other Brands, from Film to Digital, from S.L.R. to Pocket Film, Pocket Digital, to Bridge Camera.

& I have 3 Pentax Film Cameras from the 80's & 90's when they No Longer Stop Working, or another issue, I called Pentax about it Providing the Camera Model & was Told they No Longer could Repair them, due to the B.S. Lack of Parts Song.

It was the same for a Fuji Pocket I got at the End of 92, because the Focusing was Out of Whack in Early 94, No Parts Available!

&...just Last Saturday, my Prized Canon SX50 Bridge Camera I Bought in February 14, which Fell out it's Unzipped Case by Accident on the Floor when I was getting ready to put its Charged Battery in, the Lens would not move & shut the Camera Down.

I Posted on U.H.H. for any Solutions on Repairing the SX50 that Day & got Answers on what I should do.

I Bought a Lumix DC-FZ80 Package, Camera, Flash, Video Flash, Tripod, Camera Care Kit & Case from Walmart Online, Monday & was Delivered Yesterday to Replace my SX50.

So...I will Sell my Broken, Worn Out Cameras on Ebay, won't make Much Bread.

But as for the Camera Manufacturers...I have No Words for them for Not Repairing Older Cameras & People with Older Cameras can't get them Fixed By the Manufacturers cause they don't have Parts for them No Longer & you have to Find an Indie to See if they could Repair it.

There use to be an Indie in New Jersey, Called Essex & they Fell after Hurricane Sandy is what I was Told & they Repaired All Kinds of Cameras & were Dedicated to it.

If Canon, Nikon, Sony (Minolta), Pentax, Etc Stopped Servicing the Cameras due to its Age, or Lack of Parts, Essex would Repair it, but Now their No More.

But again...The Camera Manufacturers need to Relax their Policies & Service Its Older Cameras & Stockpile Parts.

Photography has changed...Mainly in the Last 40 Years.

Cameras went from Manual Focus, to Auto Focus.

From Film to Digital, which Blew up the Beginning of the 21st Century.

Smart Camera Phones came out of the Woods & Beat out Pocket Digital's, cause they have more Sharper Lenses & Way More Megapixels & are, or have Killed Off the Pocket Digital Camera.

& Now...Mirrorless D.S.L.R.'s have come in & are Phasing Out the D.S.L.R.

Now Today... it's a Different Ball Game in Photography & Getting more Hi-Tech & Everything Must Change in the Photography World!

I Hate it...& have a Love & Hate W/Digital Camera Phones & I'm Still not Educated with the Mirror less Cameras?
