SNL should do a skit with this script
Be aware, though that those same people (including me) created the huge Welfare State we have today.
Assuming you are using digital camera and it has histogram, I suggest you try using the histogram. There are some good tutorials online on how to use it to set exposures consistently in manual mode. Maybe some other folks on the forum can add something.
Good Luck . I too am scanning slides and negatives by the box load. some family photos from the 20s and up. My first slide/film scanner was a nikon ls2000. I still have it but I have no computers that support it's scsi interface.
I'm now using a plustek Opticfilm 7600i. It does a good job of dust and scratch removal. I'm happy with it so far. my scanners only do 35mm. Braun makes one that uses carousel slide trays for slides and will batch scan large numbers of slides.
Be careful with non canon lenses. I had a Tamron 27-200 image stabilized f2.8 zoom. It worked fine on my 20D, but when I left it connected to my new 6D with camera powered off It would drain a fresh battery in less then 12 hours.
