I bought the D780 for my mountain bike event photography but I also use it for personal projects. I think the low light ability is superb and I frequently use higher ISOs than with my previous D750. I also enjoy the photo stacking option for my still life pictures. I also use jpgs more for the sports stuff where previously I used RAW.

Your camera brand may provide free editing software. Nikon does and I think Canon does too, others may do so, so check their websites.

I use the peak slide and dont have that problem. I use the left hand ring, from the rear, and the tripod mount. This ensures no strap interfering with the shutter button or blocking any views. I also use portrait mode and again no interference from the strap.

Thank you, I did find this article when I was trying to establish the authenticity of the battery.

I order a Nikon en-el15b from a website at a low price (in the UK). On arrival I compared it to a genuine battery provided with my new D780. The main difference was that the plastic cover was shiney not matt as the genuine one. There were other differences in that details on the back were not presented in the same way although the fonts appeared similar. Also the reflective security label was slightly different having some diagonal lines showing at different angles.

I don't know that the battery was fake but emailed the vendor and he immediately refunded me.

Was it fake?

Use export in the file menu and send the selected photos to another folder, from there you can drag and drop. Alternatively use share in the file menu and send them to say email.

I sometimes take my compact camera with me on my mountain bike and always stop to take some pics but it’s a case of knowing that I am going to take pictures and not ride as I normally would. On other occasions at mountain bike events I sometimes take my bike to enable a quicker arrival time at the stages I will photograph but I leave the bike at the trail finish and hope it’s still there when I return. There are marshalls and I will tell them I am leaving my bike and going up the trail on foot. So the bike is a transport tool to be used to get me to the photographic spot.

Try Lensmaster, a UK firm, who built their own gimbals because the existing offerings weren’t good enough. I bought a travel version but there are others.

I use BBF for mountain bike racing and never experienced the problem. Complete hogwash.

If you have an apple computer use airdrop to transfer the images you want to it. No wires, no connections, very easy but not so good for lots of images.

I have a 2014 macbook pro and a 2013 21" imac as I do weekend events away from home (but not much this year). The imac is higher specced and operates faster than the macbook, as the macbook is not sold with the same spec as the imac. I also use an external SSD with the macbook and transfer the images to the imac once home. So depending on how you use a computer and what specs you need do compare them and make sure you get what you need which includes how much screen you need for the photography you do. If I replace my macbook pro I will get a larger screen than the 11 or 12" I have as I have found it too small.

It also depends on how you use it. If you are going on trips and taking it with you, you might want to look at SSDs that can sustain falls and knocks etc. I use a Lacie but Sandisc also do extreme versions.

I forgot to add that as you are travelling a ssd with protection from falls might be appropriate eg Lacie Rugged or sandisc extreme pro.
