Congratulations on posting your first image and welcome to the forum. I like the perspective of the old building.
Just for your information and this happens often to all of us, that water drain on the left lower part of the shot acts as a distraction. Clone it and things should look slightly different.
Good start!
You might also try the Content Aware Fill function in Photoshop-- I think it would work well to eliminate the manhole cover.
Very nice use of the streets and walkways
I'm curious to know which model iPhone and which model Nikon. Also, what lens you were using on the Nikon and were you shooting in RAW or JPEG?
From looking at many of photos that others have posted on UHH, I've found most comments to be complimentary or at least constructive in their criticisms. Still, after many years I've also discovered that groups of almost any size include a uniform if small percentage of jerks, so I expect that to be true of UHH as well. Since jerks tend to be more vocal, their apparent number is probably overestimated. In any event, I appreciate the (mostly) kind comments my post received.
No, thanks. You hold on to it.
I can live with that. Thanks.
In future I'll post some other photos for which criticism (at least constructive) will be invited.
Ah, you disobeyed my injunction against critical comments. You are correct that Mt. Whitney is not the prominent feature of the photograph though, technically, it is still a photo of Mt. Whitney. That Whitney is not in the center is its own fault-- for being so unassuming in aspect.
To date I've been shy about posting any of my photos, but I'm very pleased with this picture of Mount Whitney that I took last week. Welcome comments as long as they are complimentary-- I can supply all of the needed criticism myself.
Channelling Georgia O'Keefe!
Excellent images! Did you use stacking software in PP and, if so, which?
Looking for any recommendations or other advice on a good pistol grip tripod head. It needs to be sturdy enough to support a Nikon D7100 and a Sigma 150-500mm zoom.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
We transited through Josie airport in June 2012. We were strongly warned against putting anything valuable in our checked luggage (especially jewelry and electronic equipment, including cameras), as we would likely not see it again. Other than that, the airport was fine. We did have a tour guide who met us at baggage claim and helped us through immigration/customs, but I didn't notice any other tourists having a problem there.
