In my opinion not even close. More sensitive sensors would allow better low light performance and much higher shutter speeds throughout the aperture range. Meta lenses might someday allow full frame performance in a mobile phone package; the bet camera is the one you have with you. Ultra sharp super zooms would make light work of high quality travel photography. AI that not only focuses on a recognized object but also automatically takes multiple images selecting the best shots. I could go on for more paragraphs about video and the lack of good inexpensive choices.
Our toolset is certainly far more than adequate, but new tools would make our tasks easier.

you are speaking hardware, i am speaking of software.
You raise a good point. There is still a lot of manual manipulation needed to get an old photo to a state where it will look like the original. I have been toying AI for spotting and noise reduction.
i have been giving a lot of thought to this "content aware" and artificial intelligence going on in what we used to call Photography.
Since Steven Sasson (USA) built his digital camera and Richard G Shoop (USA) created “SUPERPAINT” digital Photography has provided more and improved tools. Having started with film and PS 2.4 it seems the progression to today is it possible that its useful point in Photography has become saturated? Does it already do everything needed to reproduce the reality and vision?

I am looking for equipment for framing and matting and I am wondering if anyone has any good experience with the equipment to do this.
I am also l am contemplating getting a large format printer and wondering about protective coatings for the paper.

Art is cheap, framing is expensive.
here is a slick trick. in ur bathroom turn the shower on full hot an let the room steam up. shut off the water and exit closeing the door. the steam will attach to the dust in the air and fall to the floor leaving the bath dust free.

I can hardly believe that after almost 70 years silver US dimes and quarters are still in circulation. It was in 1964 that the last silver coins were minted and this one almost got by me. There are 3 ways to tell a silver coin, by its luster, by its edge, and by its ring when dropped on a table. They are worth about 10x face value even in poor condition!
oh yah i was going to mention Audacity, recominded
here is a slick trick, go into ur bathroom and turn the shower on to full hot then leave and close the door. come back in a few min and the room should be steamed up, shut off the water and again leave. after about 30 min the steam will have condensated and fall to the floor carrying the room dust with it leaving a dust free enviorment to work in. NEVER USE CANNED AIR TO CLEAN A SENSOR OR A LENS, it cat spit and distroy them.
