But everybody who has lived to an older age has, when younger, done stupid shit...

As some have said, it is not necessarily as we get older that we get wiser; it may just be that we have just run out of stupid things to do.

It's only 3% of the total budget for meals on wheels

And actually that three percent comes from funding provided under the 1965 Older Americans Act, a separate budget item which has not been reduced.

I had thought about buying FoCal a week or two ago, but backed off when I saw the price on B&H. Then I ran across an article on the "DotTune" AF fine tuning process which seems to be very accurate and you don't have to purchase anything to use it!

I have been switching between Photoshop Elements and Paintshop Pro for several years but now will stick with Paintshop Pro exclusively (I currently have X9 Ultimate). I operate mainly in the edit workspace. I generally have the bottom status bar and the learning palette turned off, and have the materials palette, histogram and history palette turned on on the right side if the screen. I adjust the width of the right side palettes so a 4:6 ratio image completely fills the viewing are top to bottom and side to side. Then I save this setup as a custom workspace and set it to default so I always open with the same workspace. Once you lock in a custom workspace it becomes a lot easier to concentrate on learning PSP and doing what you want to do since you don't have menus and palettes changing and distracting you from your editing.

Why did I go with Paintshop Pro? I'm not into the subscription software model. I'm retired on a fixed income, so buying it once and upgrading every other update or so fits my budget a lot better than renting PS/LR at $10/month. Paintshop Pro does everything I want to do and is capable of much more than I probably could ever learn to do effectively as an enthusiast using it part time. PSP is a lot more intuitive than Elements and the PSP syntax follows Adobe Photoshop very closely so I can use Photoshop tutorials in PSP step for step most of the time. And finally having to frequently log in to my Adobe account and deal with their administrative bullshit is a royal PITA that I can easily do without.

Now do you get my point.

NO. You posted a pissy-ass comment a day and a half after the question was originally asked, bitching because "lots of help but no ending to the story. SAD" - your words, not mine. My point - OP's issue, unless he was damn lucky, isn't going to have an ending for a week or more, so there was no point in bitching out OP the day after his original post. Some things take time, and data recovery from a failed drive can take a LOT of time - sometime several weeks. Your post was rude!

Yes, and the first post was yesterday. Give OP a chance to do something! If OP hard to order SW or HW to effect a fix he probably won't even have that to try for several days to a week. DUMBASS!

But the freezer seems a bit risky. Have you ever tried it?

Actually I have heard that suggestion quite a few times, especially back in the IDE drive days. I've never had to try it myself, but have never heard it did any harm either, at at least a few times it proved effective.

My problem, identified and solved by my son, was really quite basic. YouTube has its own "mute" button on the left bottom of the screen, to the right of the "Pause/Play" button. I must have inadvertently hit the YouTube Mute button when I was reaching for the Pause/Play button. Once I hit Un-Mute everything was fine.

There's a simple fix for this problem: It's called "LOOK!"

There is a much better fix: It's called don't take photographs on active train tracks. Not only is it dangerous but in most places it is illegal to even be on the railroad right of way.

Another senseless death, a 19 year struck and killed by a train while modeling on a train track. Senseless, and illegal!
