Hello, Manchester neighbor. CT is a beautiful (though overly expensive) state. Next week I plan on a few road trips to capture some great photos.

I always keep my blinkies on. I sometimes think my photo is perfectly exposed, but I've lost my highlights. I usually intentionally underexpose my photos to save the highlights and will later exposure blend in Photoshop Elements.

I suggest getting Scott Kelby's book, Photoshop Elements 14 for the Digital Photographer. He has a good section in there about Adobe Camera RAW and using PSE to enhance the RAW converted to JPEG photo.

Do you have a blower? I have never taken swabs to my sensors (multiple cameras); I bought a rocket blaster (with swabs, etc.) and have only used the blaster on my sensors and it removes all the dust. The secret is to hold the camera upside down with the mirror locked up.

I used WordPerfect (word processing program) to prepare our church's bulletins, calendars, newsletters, etc., for about 25 years. A good word processing program allows you to import images and place them where you want in a document. Word processors also let you convert your file to PDF so that they can be read across platforms. We wound up e-mailing our newsletters to members and printed a limited number of copies for members who did not have e-mail and for shut-ins. I recommend WordPerfect because you buy the program (with other apps in the bundle) unlike MicroSoft which licenses the product (and I think requires a yearly renewal fee, like PhotoShop).

I would also highly recommend The Holden Arboretum in Kirtland, just east of Cleveland. Lots of flowers, trees, ponds, birds, and other wildlife.

Kirtland by itself offers photo opportunities. It was the first Mormon settlement in the US and is the site of the first Mormon Temple. The town is picturesque in itself (unless it's modernized since I last past through). No, I am not a Mormon, but came across Kirtland by accident.

The best way to save gas is to not drive at all! Ride a bike. As for me and my house: we will drive our car!

I love Stewart's Ice Cream! Black Cherry is the best! I always get some when visiting Massachusetts or going back home to upstate NY. They don't have Stewart's store in Connecticut :(

UHH used to be a great space; veterans willingly helped newbies (today newbies--if they even come here--are humiliated and made to feel unwelcomed). I liked the old UHH; I rarely come here now.

was there a number of years ago; as you continue your journey take in Ile de Orleans; very quaint (at least when I was there). There are whale watch opportunities as you go further up the St. Lawrence. I know you didn't ask for suggestions, but I couldn't help myself!

I've been in "the class" a number of times.

My GE TVs burned out; my settlement was a $50 coupon toward the purchase of a new GE television. Yeah, like I'll ever buy another GE television!

My life insurance provider decided to settle a class action suit rather than fight it (they said it would cost less money to settle). My settlement? A "free" sit down with a financial advisor from the insurance company. If I wanted more insurance they would gladly sit down with me for "free".

I was entitled to a 25 cent settlement in a suit. All I had to do was sign the agreement and mail it in. The stamp at the time was around 38 cents.

I did receive a substantial, unsolicited, check in the mail for some suit I was (unknowingly) a part of. I don't remember the company involved, but I did cash the check.

In the great majority of cases (IMHO) the only people who make out in class action law suits are the lawyers.

During our wedding many years ago, my father-in-law was surprised that his roll of 36 exposures was heading to over forty. Then he found out that the film never got caught on the take-up spool. Lots of other people took pictures, so it wasn't an issue.

When I shot film (started in 1973) I ALWAYS made sure the film was on the reel. I think I lost one photo per roll, but it was worth it.
