Windows Defender has gotten much better. Was worthless. Using just it on a couple computers. My son's, no problems. Can be also used in conjunction with third party programs.
Malwarebytes is good as a secondary program. It is anti-malware not antivirus.
Cylance is interesting. Prevention vs control/cure.
Now using McAfee. Came with computer. Not a resource hog any more. It auto renewed at full price 4x the on sale price. Quick call they refunded no problem.
Norton tries to do too much.

To make a negative print first make a regular (positive) print and use that to make a contact print emulsion side to emulsion side.
For pseudo-solarization the film or paper is flashed during development.

My cards are all the "extreme pro" ones. They say "160" on them, so I assume that's the write speed.

That is the read speed, now called transfer speed by SanDisk (Western Digital).
If a SD card the write speed, now called shot speed, is probably up to 90 or 95MP/s. If a CF could be up to 150MP/s.

Great IQ at a relatively inexpensive price. Less than alot of phones.
IQ not a function of a viewfinder. You can accurately compose and focus on the lcd screen.
What price are you looking at? The newer model X-A7 is on sale $499.
X-E3 is great but no tilting screen and higher price.

Aimlessly wandering around Nikon's today site I settled on the Df page. Just wondering what the attraction of this camera is. It's an analog DSL as far as I can tell and am scratching my head as to why it's made? Nostalgia? Or is there a real purpose for it? Asking for a friend.

At the time of release seemed like response to the Fuji cameras that preceded it, X-Pro1 and X-E1, which had analog style controls. Aperture ring and shutter speed dial. Still a drawing card for Fujis.

I have an i5 8400 @ 2.80Ghz (usually running @ 3.88Ghz), 16Gb Ram, Nvidia GTX 1050ti 4gb ram.
Using Topaz Sharpen nothing is running high (CPU or RAM) except 3d in the GPU is max to 100%.
If you have a Windows machine you can check this in Task Manager>Performance. Click on the GPU and will see active running aspects details of the GPU.
Seems it does a lot of 3d rendering. I though that was mostly a video thing ??

Depends on the drive?
Who do we believe?

Yes, That depends on the technology of the drives and how they’re used.
The lose-data-7-days has been debunked.
Personally, I have a whole slew of external HHDs, most if not all over 5 yrs. old, all doing fine.
Also a bunch of thumb drives, no problems yet. Some with old data, close to 5 yrs.

According to whom? By whom? Hoyle?
Magnetic storage data integrity will outlast charge coupled storage data integrity, unless de-magnetized from an external source.
Then, How LONG does one plan on using a particular storage method?
Ten years? A hundred years?
I'll take an HHD.

Don't know Hoyle.
"SSDs can be expected to last as long or longer than HDDs in most general applications." Backblaze
Preferred for reason I stated.
Relying on any storage over 5 years would be a mistake.
Ten years - flip a coin.
Hundred years, perhaps use M-DISC.

They will be just fine. Flash storage. Better than CDs. Nor more temporary than the cloud or external HHDs.
With the Photo Stick you are paying extra for its back up software. I wouldn't bother.
Flash storage is now preferred over standard hard drives (HHD) because of no moving parts. No spinning disk. Still okay though especially if you need a lot of storage space on a budget.
Downside to thumbdrives is they are small, can get lost and not as robust an enclosure as an external drive.
If you don't need a lot of storage space check out an external SSD -

Not "DSLR vs Mirrorless" but more FF 45.7 megapixels vs APS-C 26 megapixels sensors.
Actually I believe the Fuji shot was not focused right or something. A Fuji X-T3 can do better than that at 1200 pixels.
How about a Fuji GFX 50R vs Nikon D850. Similar price. Better yet a Fuji GFX 100. Keeping it in the DSLR vs Mirrorless domain and all.

How do you know that?

It has been their policy that images have just basic editing which is done in-house only.
Got that from an interview with a National Geographic executive a couple years ago.

The X-T30. Pretty much all the tech of the X-T3.
New vs used.
Image quality is a toss up. XT30 just a couple more pixel, but better AF.
XT30 a wee bit smaller than Panasonic's Lumix DC-FZ80. 1/4" or some thing like that (W & H).
Not weather resistant. XT2 is I believe. Not a big deal (to me anyways).
I have a XT20. I really dig it. Will pair it up with the XF 16-80mm (great OIS) at some point. Definitely before next big trip, whenever that might be somewhere down the now long road.
Been using X-Pro 1/ X-E1 since they came out. Now have X-H1 and X-T20.
