bid your high on Sams Club auction and it only increases enough to win.

Never heard of Sams Club auction. You mean ShopGoodwill.com? That's how it works.

Thanks for getting us back on track...

By the way- I had a post about Sniping, but was afraid to put it in photo discussion. Instead I put it in Chit-chat. Was this right or wrong section? I guess buying a photographic item qualifies. Didn't want UHH police calling me out.

If an item is listed for a long time, just put it on your watchlist until it is closer to the close.

That what a shopping list or watch list is for: Keeps track of your favorites - then delete after auction closes. You get a good idea of current value when comparing auction sites.

No neeed to pay somebody else, just decide your top bid and hit the button with five seconds to go. That way you don't get carried away. My hit rate exceeds 90% according to eBay.

That's what I did on Shopgoodwill.com for a used Yamaha subwoofer I wanted. Waited till last 30 seconds and put in a safe maximum and my bid was increased to $1.00 above previous high bid, and I won a $90 compact subwoofer for $21.00 with 14.00 shipping and handling chg. saving $55. I had my phone next to me with a screen counting down in seconds to know exact time.

Most of you know of Sniping using an internet software to bid on an auction site. You pay a small fee and the site bids up to your specified amount at the very last second so you don't have to moniter the auction at closing time. What is your favorite Sniper and are you concerned with security since you have to give them your user id and password to bid. I have used them in the past to get old Goldwing parts which are no longer in production (painted in the exact color). Maybe you can pass on some bidding techniques you have learned if you don't dare to use a sniper. Which snipers don't work well or their software is too complicated?

Took a few shots of this Ladderback Woodpecker that's been hanging around with his Missus lately. Until I got the image into my computer I never noticed how much the top of his head looks like the bandana do-rag a friend of mine used to wear when we were on our motorcycles

I love this picture SUPER sharp.

If you are looking for a pocket style camera, there are good choices in the Panasonic, Sony, and Canon Brands. You can get good prices among all of them. From lower to higher prices. The Sony RX100 series is a good choice. You don't necessarily need to purchase the most recent model, which will be the most expensive. Look at all of the above Brands. Good luck.

I would second the Sony RX100. I have the original version and bought it from B&H used for $269. That was 2/2016. It has a fast Carl Zeiss lens and great image stabilization. Almost can't take a bad shot.

Saw this gentleman the other day in a park in Stuart, FL. Trike made out of a Yamaha motorcycle with 1900 CC Volkswagen engine. A little jet simulator to attract attention. Said he would sell it for $2 million but only after he passed.

Love them. My favorite is on your flickr site. The young boy sitting on the docks with a box for questions. $1.00 in bills only. Tom

My wife and I purchased 2 IPhone 5S from Sam's Club (Verizon). My wife started to have touch screen problems during the second year so we had to send to phone repair (Prepaid by Square Trade) to a Camera/Phone repair in Chicago. They replaced the glass and IQ -It took a week to get back and had a $65 copay. Plan cost $99 for multi year coverage.

His supplies weighed 300#which included his own darkroom. He started out using 6.5 x 8.5 in glass plates and ended up using 11 x 14 and 20 x 24 glass to even shoot panoramas of 360 degrees. One time one of his mules threw off two boxes of 11 x 14 glass plates. You can imagine how mad he was.
