Holly and I worked this past weekend. The images from the shoot were magnificent. But these were especially meaningful because it was the first time my Grill Apron has been worn! haha

More of Holly to come..... and Happy Belated Memorial Day to each of you, and a special thanks to those who served.

Photos like Benny 2 are the "what we don't see flavors what we do see" ... at times clothing thin is very tempting. I will never forget the gal in grocery store as sun was low and shining down the isle... she had on a Momo thin thing and sun made it transparent. Even the wilted lettuce got firm ! !

I shoot the IIIf mostly, but, if I could, I'd get a Leica M6 for the meter. The ZS60 is fine until I get my LF1 back. I'd like a D750 for full frame (all my lenses are FF). There is no upgrade for the Minolta CLE; it was Leicas last try at a full frame (film) compact camera and they got it right.

Hi 'BHC'... --- THANKS.!!! -- My neighbor has a 750 and swears by it. He takes some of the BEST Sunsets.!!!! Are you waiting for the D820.??? --- IMHO, Panasonic has some of the most interesting cameras.!!!

Which camera do you find yourself using the most.? -- is there an upgrade.? -- Why would you consider purchasing the upgrade.? (IOW, what is it about the upgrade, that your current camera doesn't provide.?)

Charcot-Marie-Tooth? That sucks. Sorry to hear about the health issues.
I did architectural and street in the early days, using a Nikon, then downsizing to Pentax and ultimately Leicas. Did architectural with my view cameras and technical cameras (Horseman and Speed Graphic), I left one camera out, my Contax RTS II which I loved - but because it had Zeiss lenses, which were wonderful. I did have one oddball, one-of-a-kind camera - it was a Zeiss 38mm Biogon lens and Compur(?) shutter, attached to a Sinar lensboard. The standard had the ability to accept a lensboard on one side, and a filmholder on the other. I added a pistol grip to the bottom and a 21mm Super Angulon viewfinder (from my Leica), set the sucker to hyperfocal distance, and had a very sweet omnifocus rig that could cover 6x7cm rollfilm format.

For interiors and architectural - the Sinar P hands down was my favorite. I had all Nikon glass - the 65, 75, and 90 SW lenses. I also had a 90 Grandagon for a while but found the Nikons far sharper. Formals I used a 135 Zeiss something or other, and for headshots a Schneider 210mm Computar Symmetrigon. Or my Mamiya, or my 35mm camera du jour. Late in the game (80s) I simplified and got rid of all of my large format stuff and just used 35mm.

To answer the other questions inbedded in your DPR question.

1. Do you shoot professionally? Not currently. 1980-83, did museum copy photography.
2. What type of Photography is your specialty? Hobby (today): Landscape, Flower Close-up, Macro, occasional musical Performance Photography.
3. Name Camera used in 2 above? 8x10" Burk & James 12" lens (used in 1). (Today) Pentax K-5, Pentax K-20D, Pentax K-100D (IR converted). Shutter-type-wise, no idea; brand, because I've been using that brand for decades and have many lenses. Canon & Nikon & Sony are fine brands as well.

Sorry I only read and write in standard English. I'm bad with web-ese or text-ese. See my other reply for comments on shutters.

Well, first, I think DPReview should go ahead and publish this on Monday the 22nd rather than wait until Tuesday the 22nd - long weekend, eh?

I was watching those &%$#@* Tigers last night on NBC, and they played a very slo-mo clip of a play, and you could see the cyclic rate of the DTE electricity as wave after wave of light ran through the video.

In the olden days, when the world was dominated by horizontal shutters, a very fast horse (car, or train) would be longer when running right to left and shorter when running left to right. With a vertical shutter, fast moving objects will lean into the direction they are moving. It is the Photographer's choice whether this leaning is considered a photographic error, or a burst of creativity. Are you going to fight it or use it?
