Child abuse, elder abuse or what ever

Call it what you will the bottom line is this is ABUSE in the basic form. Child abuse, elder abuse or what ever. In my humble opinion to force any male to make this decision at any age is unconscionable.

He got both, what's the problem?

I finally “cut the cord” with my cable provider. One of the most frustrating things I do is take the shot of a lifetime and get nothing but tail feathers.
The second is trying to find something to watch on one of 200 channels. Sorry, but I am tired of paying to watch “Cup Cake Wars”, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”, “Little Housewife’s of Atlanta” and Bulgarian soccer. And I am paying to the tune of about $100 a month.
I also cut the landline. Don’t need it, the security system is cellular and all I got on the landline was 10 robo calls a day.
So now I have...
Netflix $10 a month.
Amazon Prime comes with my membership.
Hulu $7.99 a month.
Curiosity Stream $2.99 a month.
Grand total $21 a month for almost 500,000 movies and TV episodes.
Just wondering if anyone out there has done the same.

We got rid of DISH 10 + years ago- got a Mac mini; internet to our 52" SHARP Aquas; Hulu +; Amazon Prime; Netflix and an existing chimney mount external antenna for local tv + many sub channels.Dumped the land line too.Cellular or internet. We could still charge cells off the car batteries in case of power failures too.

We will be going on a Cruise this summer. I have a Nikon 3300 with a 50-100 zoom lens and a 50-300 zoom lens any suggestions on taking Quality Shots from a moving Ship? Thanks.

Don't lean on any walls or railings for support-vibrations travel thru the ship. Use appropriate shutter speeds (1/300 minimum for the 50-300 zoom)

In Michigan everyone used to have to have emissions tested- unless your vehicle was more than 10 years old. What a joke- all the oil burners were exempted from testing and maintenance! The rest was just a legislative grab into our pockets!
There are lots of those.

I have a Nikon d5100 camera with the kit lens, whatever setup I use there is always a slight red cast to the pics, I have tried auto white balance, and in very sunny conditions sun, etc.
Also I have tried the vivid setting the neutral and all the other settings but still get the same results, I can alter the colour in my paint program but why do I keep getting the red cast, any ideas please.

Would it havveanything to do with the tinted lenses of your eyeglasses? I'll bet it's a slight warm tint, from the look of your photo? Order Neutral Grey lenses.

Remember- the original 35mm films of the 1920's were on Nitrate emulsions, and were quite explosive. That is why the projection booth was always concrete block and sealed of from the theatre!
No reason not to expect film to be explosive. If our guard is down it'll happen!

Dell monitors are available in many price ranges. You get what you pay for!You are running an outdated program (W7) calibrated with a older version of a Spyder. Why not spec things out for the next generation so you don't buy obsolete items? I suppose you are running PS 6 from the disk version?

Two exposures - one for the window and one for the rest of the room. An XRite color checker passport will help with balancing the colors of the light - you can either blend manually or if your skills with Photoshop aren't up that level yet, you can always use ACR or Lightroom HDR merge.

Here is a detailed video on the ColorChecker. Pay particular attention to the dual-illuminant mode.

Or you pick a time when the window light is less intense. In the old days we used blackout panels on the windows, but I used a small crew of 4 people to do a high end architectural shoot.

The blackout panels are still used extensively by film companies doing movie shoots.

"in the old days" Roscoe Gells were used to cover the windows to match daylight to interior tungsten lighting too!

Well I'm baffled! I have been using my 800mm mirror for about a year, Taki g great pictures! Although the construction quality of this lens needs improvement it does normally work well. I was at a "long boat" meet yesterday of Prep schools and thought I would surprise them with photos of the meet! I had nothing but trouble! My D5200 just would not work with the lens! All I got was white outs! When I came home a bit dejected, I went out in the back yard and took some good shots! I am thinking that the combination of bright sun and water did me in. I tried every setting of iso the camera offered (100-6400) but it didn't matter. Any suggestions? They are coming back in a few weeks! This is not a paying job, this is for the kids!

You know the fixed f stop of the mirror lens, so exposure will be controlled by shutter speed and ISO setting. It sounds like this may be a lens flare issue? Your location in relation to the sun may be the issue. Tent or scrim your lens from overhead sunlight. Change locations to see if the angle to the sun makes a difference. You can practice these things these things at the lake with or without boats!

The mistake was in putting the film in checked baggage. ALWAYS CARY FILM ON IF YOU CAN'T INDEPENDENTLY SHIP IT HOME.

Baggage scanners for carry on luggage use lower energy xrays and MUCH lower doses to check for banned items. ZERO chance of exposing or over exposing your photographic film.

Even newer checked baggage scanners don't expose your film. But there is some older equipment in use that MAY cause a problem.

So if you have film and can't mail it home, carry it on, and let security do a hand search.

If you read the post security made him remove the film from the lead bags and x rayed it RAW! There was no option to do anything else.

My daughter has a somewhat similar problem with the lens hood on her D7200. The hood is fine until she uses the built-in flash. Then she gets a shadowy arc on the bottom of the photos. The solution for that is obvious - remove the hood.

I don't know if that would work or not in this case, but it's worth a try.

The built in flash isn't designed for use with zoom lenses with lens hoods.

Do any of you use external camera monitors? I'm mean the kind that fit on the hot show, generally 7". They look like they would be very useful under certain circumstances. Several on Amazon, from $139 - $249.

Don't forget the battery pack to power them. Lots of listings in video DSLR accessories.

If your camera is tripod mounted , Spray a 10x12 sheet of smooth, rigid mountboard with flat black paint. Test your timed exposure for the "top of scene"; then for "bottom of scene". Once you know the ratio- you'll know how long to block the top while doing a timed exposure before removing the card. (the difference may be in minutes).
