Try Ashampoo Photo Commander or Photo Optimiser https://www.ashampoo.com/en-us

They both cost next to nothing and do a really good job.
I have used them for years for my basic editing and I have never been let down.

In 1945 the Second World War a soldier was asked by the regimental medical orderly when he had last had sex with a woman.

He replied 1943 sir.

The orderly was surprised and said that was a long time ago.

The soldier looked at his watch and said well it is only 20.45 now sir.

A very elderly couple is having an elegant dinner to celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary.

The old man leans forward and says softly to his wife, “Dear, there is something that I must ask you. It has always bothered me that our tenth child never quite looked like the rest of our children. Now I want to assure you that these 75 years have been the most wonderful experience I could have ever hoped for, and your answer cannot take that all that away. But, I must know, did he have a different father?”

The wife drops her head, unable to look her husband in the eye, she paused for a moment and then confessed. “Yes. Yes he did.”

The old man is very shaken, the reality of what his wife was admitting hit him harder than he had expected. With a tear in his eye he asks “Who? Who was he? Who was the father?”

Again the old woman drops her head, saying nothing at first as she tried to muster the courage to tell the truth to her husband.

Then, finally, she says, “You.”

Thanks so much for so much good advice.
At present for my go anywhere camera,
I use either the Tough Olympus TG6 12mp or the Lumix equivalent 15mp.
From what I have seen I would expect a good cell phone to be give better quality,
I'm hoping the tough Nokia XR21 will provide that.

Thanks for your help and good luck!
Phil

Wow, it sounds like you have had a fascinating life with many tales to tell.
You should consider writing a book about some of your many adventures,
I'd be first in the que to by a copy!

I'm very tempted but I've never even tried a phone camera.
I'll wait to see what Black Friday offers come along.

Well done on sorting your symbols out on the ipad.

I'm being nosey I know but I'm intrigued by your screen name?

Hello and thanks for your reply,
The Nokia XR21 is waterproof, dust proof, drop proof and seems virtually bomb proof.
The main camera is 64mp, it therefore sound ideal to take out when walking,
I'd just like to know that it's a good choice at £400.
Nokia still also sell the earlier XR20 with a similar build and a 48mp camera at half the price.

Hello,
I'm thinking of buying a Nokia XR21,
do any of you have any experience using one please?
I'd love to know your opinions, good or otherwise.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you all for your advice, more research to do on these models now and a trip to the shop to try some of them out. Not one for buying blind off the internet before handling them to see how they feel and operate. Never bought a refurbished camera how do you feel about buying second hand?

I think it's grossly unfair to physically touch, view or try out anything at a real store-retailer,
then go off and purchase the said item off the internet from the likes of Amazon.
If we all did that then soon there will be no camera shops, electrical shops, book shops etc.

And if these are not in your budget, the Panasonic comparable models, Lumix DC-ZS200D and Lumix DMC-FZ2500 may be for you. Both have 1" sensors and non-interchangeable, wide range zoom lenses.

I would back this suggestion also.

What are your experiences with compact cameras and your suggestions? My current compact is a Canon Power Shot G11 and my other camera is a Canon 90D The camera that I have most of the time is a Samsung Note 9, yes it is a phone. I did a search for compact camera articles on this site, and many of them were several years ago. I'm not set on buying a Canon and looking to replace my G11.

I've always been more than happy with my Lumix cameras.

This was my question back in Oct 2012

With technology racing ahead at such a pace and camera chips getting ever higher definitions, I'd like your views on how you see things going over the next few years.
Do you think we will get to a stage when we no longer need a variety of lenses, will we simply through chip size, be able to use one fairly wide main lens and then crop the image to suit?

Thanks for your thoughts - Phil

If you have to have a Photoshop-like clone, there is an open-source option called GIMP.

I had that once upon a time as well but figured that if I was going to invest that kind of time in software, I was going for the real deal, so I bought a copy of Photoshop CS6 and a book called Understanding Photoshop CS6...

When the authentication code didn't work, I contacted Adobe and they told me that I had not purchased the program from an authorized reseller and that there was nothing they could do. Not long after that the marketing geniuses rolled out the subscription service.

It was a revenue generating idea of the highest magnitude but not for this guy either.

The point of the diatribe is that there are options, and ones that won't lighten your bank account on a monthly basis.
If you have to have a Photoshop-like clone, there ... (show quote)

If you want something close to Photoshop but to own it outfight at a low cost then see Serif Affinity.
