People who use variables with the word "unique". Unique comes from the Latin meaning one and means one of a kind. You can't have sort of unique, kind of unique, etc.
Also, people that don't know when to use the personal pronoun such as "you and I", "you and me", etc.

Theoretically, this coming Monday.
Had a mechanic offering to rebuild my 55 MGTF1500 engine in his spare time and save me a lot of money. I told him, "Fine, it just need it by spring for springtime driving." This was the winter of 1969. I forgot to specify the year. Two years later it was still not finished. I paid him off and towed it home.
Yeah, right. This coming Monday. What year?
Got me! Man, I hate that!
Thanks, Sarge.

The main problem for me personally with the deteriation in both written and spoken English is where it results in lack of clarity or ambiguity. I am a believer in language evolving, it gives color and identity to different cultures. I even quite like text talk and how it continues to push boundaries, although I struggle to keep up. I dont object to poor spelling per se (unless the perpetrator is complaining about poor English)
I, too, believe in language evolving. I believe the American language is a rich compilation of all the different immigrants that have landed here, including the original English. However, I also believe that the language is devolving not evolving. A study I read recently stated that in the 1930's a university educated person had a vocabulary or around 100,000 words. Currently, the average university graduate has a vocabulary of around 15,000 words. I do object to poor spelling. The essence of photography is communication. If we can't agree on a standard of communications in photography, then we can't communicate. Why not just make up words for f stop, depth of field, etc.? Then if anybody corrects we can call them elitist, university snobs, while misspelling every other word. Ah, well. You can't stop entropy.

What a bunch of crap. Trayvon Martin was never in Africa!
Did anyone notice that the OP called for one word, yes or no, apparently a stricture no one has adhered to, including me?
Great ad, but I wonder why they used the English word "Legendary" and the Japanese transliteration "Biru".
Rixpix, almost all people have a preference for their own. This is not racism, it is call a bias. If you look at the base of that word you have "leaning". As a person with a high level of Scottish background, I have liking for things Scottish. This is a leaning or bias, not racism. The tendency to call all things racist is ignorance, such as Paula Deene using the "n" word. Inexcusable in these days and definitely racist.
Beautiful shot! Could you please give us the data on it: lens, iso, shutter speed, etc? Thanks.
I really hate that statement! I worked in the emergency medicine field and computer science field for decades and have heard some of the most bonehead stupid questions one can imagine.
Some groups in the UK add an "r" in words that end with an "a", such as America. Good example of these regionalizations can be found with Steve Matchett, a commentator for F1 races. These same speech patterns can be found in the NE area of the US, showing the British background. Here (in Oregon) we speak what is called "TV talk".
Bill, you need to let us know to whom you are replying. Like this.
Robots are already in the military service in the form of bomb robots, drones and probably others. One of the primary laws I first learned in computer science is, "Always have a power cord!"
Common mistake. The U.S. is not a democracy but a republic. I may be ignorant, but the only great democracy I can think of is (was) Greece and it lasted from roughly 1200 or earlier, B.C. to at LEAST 400 A.D. Somewhat more than 200 years. I do however agree with the initial premises, aside from the statement that there are more citizens dependent on the government than supporting it.
Rixpix, I really hate to say this, but I agree with you to a certain extent, without the vituperation and frothing (also present in the OP). We should fear people that avow hatred for people based on their beliefs and suggest suspension of the constitution on that basis. But we also need to fear the godless barbarians that knock an honorable soldier down with their car, shout "Allah akhbar!" and hack off his head while asking the shocked onlookers to photograph them. Oh, if only each ofthe onlookers had had a Colt 1911 .45 Automatic!
