Check out legacybox. I am sending off reels of 16mm to them as we speak.
in camera flash on my Nikon D90. I have a Nikon speed light, I will see if it happens with that flash attached.
The camera body is a Nikon D90 the lens is a Nikon DX 18-200. I set the iso at 200 and 400. Tried A and P priority. I was using the in camera flash. The focus is set for back focus. center weight metering, Flash shutter speed set at 1/60 ,It was inside of the house during the day with normal lighting but needing a flash. This happened at Christmas and again the other day. The camera would not fire after I focused on my subjects so I turned the camera off then back on and it fired. That seemed to be the only way I could get the camera to fire with flash. I wonder if it is in the focus?
set on A or P so the camera sets the speed and aperature.
A few times now, with my Nikon D90 while taking photos with my flash I have experienced times when I press the shutter release button nothing happens. I have set my camera to back focus, not sure that has anything to do with it but I have tried both A & P priority modes. If I turn the camera off then back on it will fire? I was not in total darkness as this was in my family room but with dim lighting.
I have a Manfrotto tripod with ball head. I have never been happy with the ball head and thinking of changing over to a pan/tilt head or video head. I used to use my tripod a lot shooting wildlife but now more into landscapes. I would also like to do some panos and time lapse. Any suggestions without breaking the bank?
Anyone using CS5 & LR 5 after upgrading to El Capitan? I have a MAC and using Yosmite
Good idea as my wife shoots jpeg and so do I when I use my iphone
Perhaps I am somewhat confused but I don't keep my photos in my computer. I have them saved to my main external HD and a backup on my 2nd. HD. Am I missing something when I keep hearing "backup"? I am very greatful on the responses that I have received. This is a great group of people who take the time to share their thoughts and ideas.
I have two external WD Hard drives where I store all my photos and important files. The photos are on both external hard drives. That is my backup.

Only one? How about a backup? Having anything of value on only one drive is like playing Russian roulette.
I sure did get a lot of responses and greatly appreciate it. I need to get off my butt and start this process. I guess I am overwelmed by the many vhs tapes that I have of my family. I have two external HD's that I store my photos, music etc. I wonder if I should get a 3rd dedicated HD just for the movies? Both HD's have 1TB each
What I need to do is to move the movies into my computer into lets say 3 differently movie folders. I have 3 sons where I have taped each one of them playing in a baseball game on 1vhs tape. Once in my computer I would like to edit them and then burn them into 3 different dvd's. I don't want to just transfer vhs to dvd.
I use a mac and have so many vhs tapes of my kids. I would love to be able to edit them on my computer and convert them to dvd. I have a small tv/vhs combo to play the vhs on. Any suggestions of software/hardware that you would suggest? I know I can bring them in and have them converted to dvd but all my vhs tapes have too much on them and they have to be edited. I have three sons and would love to be able to take out those sections on the vhs and convert them over to dvd for them. Not sure where to begin. I have been wanting to do this for years but keep putting it off. Now I need to get on with it.
Thanks for all the responses. I think I too will wait abit before I jump in. Everything is working just fine so why upset the apple cart.
Has anyone upgraded to El Capatain and still uses CS5 & LR5? I was wondering if their were any problems before I go ahead and do this upgrade. I also use nik, OnOne and topaz. I have no problems with Yosemite and perhaps I should leave well enough alone. Any comments?
