All things considered, I myself, would go for the D500 and then start looking for a used Nikon 105. They don't seem to be hard to find in excellent condition. I bought mine used in perfect condition from a lady here on the UHH. It could be considered as a simple matter of economics: A new D500 body will cost a great deal more than a used 105.
I own D800, 105mm,24-70mm 80-200mm and 28-300mm. The 105mm is very sharp for macro photography and the D500 is an excellent tool for wild life photography. You might need a 500mm later for birds ! Good luck.
