Gessman, thanks for the info. But I'm way too old to understand any of this. I don't use my camera to call someone and don't use my phone to take photo's. All of this sure sounds interesting and glad it all works for you!! Resident member of the 'Old Pharts and Still Learning Club'.

I like your photos. What program did you use to get the pencil effect in the third photo?[/quote]

Thank you Bridgeman. I used picnic for the truck. I do like to mess with post processing. Where do you live in MO ? I am from Columbia. Moved west to OR 2 years ago. Love it out here. PM me I would like to share ideas on photography. Thanks again.

Still nothing going on around here but winter...cloudy, cold and brown. Everything looks drab so I'm going back to the archives. The photos I've chosen are from my favorite album taken during a two week stay just outside of Thomaston, GA. A few of us ladies were driving around and came upon this place. Turned out it was just an old fella's hobby for years collecting these relics and building his own make believe station. The owners were just leaving and gave us permission to look around..."just close the gate on your way out." I guess we looked harmless enough.

Very cool pics. Reminds me of an old fella in Ashland, MO. He collected gas pumps and owned two 47 Packards.

And that killed the whole effect. Great. Never listen to advice that goes against your initial instinct when you take a picture. Your vision is unique as it is for every human being. Respect it.

Why the comment here? Cropping is killing the flow. If anything that (avoiding the... whatever it is) should have been WHEN taking the picture, not afterward.

I agree with Wolf. Now my eye IS drawn away from subject to the upper right where a sliver of the pole is visible. Leave the pole.

Welcome to Day 84 :) .. It's the first saturday of spring... Hopefully the weather is great everywhere and we can all get out of the house and enjoy the sunshine.
Today we are going to take a look at another part of photographic composition .... Triangles. The technique involves composing an image in such a way that three
objects form the points of the triangle. Then invisible, diagonal lines connect the three points drawing the viewer's eyes from one to the other.
Here are a few examples to get us started. I look forward to see the triangles that make up your world.
