Not sure of how to locate LA Shooter I photograph mainly torso shots and head portraits and I pay my model when she stipulates that as her absolute terms... otherwise I heed her requests

Somewhere today, hopefully on UHH, someone asked about sources for models and they were told to check Model Mayhem and another source but I deleted the comment before I wrote the second recommendation down. I have used MM for several years and I am satisfied with the quality . Now I'd like to try another source. Can anyone offer suggestions. I am mainly interested in female models. Thank you

I used Samy's in Santa Barbara, CA, for 20 years. When Brooks Photography School went out of business so did that branch of Sam'ys. I sure miss them. I had a guru there that gave me free advice... great guy. I sure miss them both.

I chimp just about every shot. I do mainly portraits so I want to check the lighting and I want the sitting to be as good as it can be. If I didn't chimp I would not pick up on any mistakes until I got the card into the PC for review and processing. Maybe I'm not perfect.... but I prefer it. If it is an action photo such as BIF I will shoot as many as I can.... and then view them.

New of course. Wouldn't want to see a kiss trying to kiss a shark through soiled glass ... good way to get tossed out

I took a toilet plunger from the handle and cut a hole to fit the lens. Great at aquariums. Just press it to the glass and shoot.

Yes they are. I have a light that has a fresnel lens. Supposedly a throwback to lighthouse days where the light was not visible "way out there." A Frenchman (I believe "invented" the fresnel lens which threw the light out further
