Great set! Is that a dreaded survey marker in the gravel bar in that last shot?
Great photos, makes me feel I am there! Just for the record and maybe help some of us east of the Mississippi River, if you want to see, feel and photograph petrified wood and huge logs, abeit with out the desert setting, try about 40 miles west of Jackson Mississippi on the road to Yahoo. A large deposit of petrified logs can be found there. There is or was, last time we were there, a large 10-15 acres being operating as a natural reserve. Water well drillers report hitting 4 foot logs 400 to 500 feet underground in that area. Unfortunately, my photos of that area have gone byby!

Those vaccines were properly tested and vetted, unlike the Corona vaccine that was rushed through the process for political points. I am NOT saying the Corona vaccines is not effective nor am I saying it is dangerous; I am merely saying that it has not been through the same rigorous process as the other two you cite. Some people are afraid if it because of that.
Please do your research. The smallpox vaccine was not subject to all the FDA rules etc. Jonah Salk (polio) did not to meet all the FDA rules either. His vaccine was laughed at and made fun of for years. It's an interesting read (Google it). Professionally he was almost ruined before it become evident that his vaccine was the best.
If penicillin were to be discovered today, it would never make it to market because of the rigorous process any new drug has to pass. It would fail the animal test.
My wife and I have both taken the vaccine, I work and a hospital and do want to do my part in protecting my fellow citizens, and yes we mask up in public! Masking does not prevent all virus particles but it will block some helping our body to fight the lesser amount that does get to your mucus membranes. And yes, when I was working full-time, I was working in a virology lab. 6 years of it. So, altho I don't have a Dr. in front of my name, I have a good working knowledge. P.S. My wife spent 6 weeks hospitalized with this crap, was released in mid-Feb. and is still having problems. DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO HELP PREVENT THIS FROM SPREADING!!!
Here in Tennessee, it is illegal to use a hand held comm device while driving. The ham community got together and received an exception to that rule. Cell phones must use a hands free device but licensed hams may use radio. CB (Channel 11) is not a licensed frequency so I do have to wonder about using it.
I carry a copy of the exception letter in my truck, along with my FFC license.

The midwestern native Americans used this wood to build some powerful bows. My cousins and I as young boys did the same and accounted for many a bullfrog during the 1950's.
We have a female weather "forecaster" who says "we should be at 58 degrees", or whatever the average temp is, every day. I wonder if she knows how the average temp is calculated?

These are really nice. Any idea what the old building was? It's too small for a barn.
I think, based on size of others I know about in the area and that chimney, that it was the first home for that farm.
Thanks for looking and stay safe and healthy!
After a week of clouds, I had to get out and drive around a little. Before somebody yells the brown crop in front of the long barn is unharvested soybeans. That photo is at 250mm handheld and I had to crop about 1/3 of the foreground and a lot of sky.
Rural road and red Barn
Liked the quilt blocks.
Wonder how old this is? What stories it could tell?

WLS (Worlds Largest Store) Barndance out of Chicago, WSM Grand Ole Opry Nashville both 50Kw stations and sometimes at night there was an outlaw station just across the border from Larado Tx that pumped out 100Kws! Listened to it a lot when driving at night. Helped to keep me awake! We were living in Indiana at the time.
