Great pics, Ron. I have some decent photos of damsel flies but nothing that can equal these.

These images are fantastic!! Were they stacked? And if so, how in the world did you get these guys to pose that long? VERY nicely done!

It seems to me that if one is tired of Layla you can simply scroll past the post rather than exerting energy complaining after you visited the post.

I've posted plenty of images in this section. And given numerous suggestions and opinions - mission accomplished - so I'm not sure what you're point is. Everyone's tastes are different and the validity of their views will vary depending on experience/qualifications. You clearly don't like my work, which is fine. But rest assured, that's not going to cost me any sleep. Anyway . . . I thought you were going to quietly go away?

Quietly, yes, until you decided to use your "last word" with your own ad hominem attacks. You suggested that I am making personal attacks on you. Not so. I have no reason to even have an opinion on you OR your work. But since you have posted some of your offerings here, along with others who seek critique, I have offered you mine. As I said in the post above, your overall criticism of the image quality on this board is in reality a criticism of the overall reason this board exists. It's not JUST for the accomplished photographer. There are a few who frequent this board and most of us of lessor ilk are glad they have decided to share their work with us. You, however, in your rant about the overall quality of the posts here, seem to be trying to look down on some of those who seek some positive critique in order to gain a bit of improvement in their work. My comments have nothing to do with you personally or your work. How good your work is should be a subject on which others will opine. It has everything to do with your attitude.

I see no reason to further clutter this thread - OR this forum - with the detritus into which these responses have deteriorated. If you have anything else to say, you may do so in a private message.

My original comment was NOT aimed at any individual, more the quality of posts in this section which I feel are pretty woeful (most times). That was made abundantly clear several times but obviously passed your inattentive eye by. Your consequent derogatory personal remarks and criticism of my work (considering it's not even the topic here) seems bizarre, to say the least. Stay a little more focused next time to avoid straying from the true issue. Anyway . . . all the best for 2022!

You said earlier that your post was aimed at all the “guff” posted in this section. But one of the objectives of this site is to help people whose work is still in the “guff” stage. The vast majority of postings here are from people who want to improve their skill levels in a favorite hobby. Across the various boards on this site, you will find photos that reflect a need for improvement by the photographer. If you are REALLY accomplished and you feel that a particular board has few if any examples of what one SHOULD aspire to, then post some outstanding work for them to try to emulate.

Certainly, a world class photographer who has placed his work in Vogue and Playboy has something that can stir the imagination of lesser mortals.

Read your original post again. It was not aimed at constructive criticism but served only as a backhanded commentary on the quality of one photographer's work. I don't care if Laylafan is a "she", or a "he", or an alien. Your post was what it was. As far as the "hijacking", one could use that term as a descriptive for your entire thread. You may have the last word. I'm out.

Can't see your comments on any of my output so I'll just ignore the positive feedback from other viewers and pay attention to your misinformed words of wisdom then, eh?

So you only consider the good feedback and not the more critical stuff? Positive feedback does not mean that you are some shining light in nude photography. I've seen some of your stuff, and beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder. Some of it isn't bad. Not GREAT, but not bad. You do have a very good creative side, but it's your creativity that often gets in the way of "reality". There are a number of people here who offer positive feedback to Laylafan69's work as well. As far as "reality" goes, she's ahead of you. To some of us, she offers something in her work that yours does not. But keep trying. Practice leads to improvement.

I must say that at times this section does drag on to the point of utterly boring and repetitious. And that, no doubt, is promoted and provoked by the salubrious and encouraging remarks that perpetuate the issue by seemingly "lacking" viewers' opinions. There are a number of posters on here that peddle the same real low grade stuff (and I am certainly not naming anyone here): out-of-focus, badly exposed, less than complimentary view point that receive glowing reviews, which are, in reality, diabolical! denigrates the whole section massively, to me. Obviously all of our standards and areas of expertise vary massively. And the whole point here is that we are meant to be growing as photographers and in our views on this area of photography. But for goodness sake lets gets some semblance of reality, normality, and quality back to this section. Most of the stuff on here now is real dribble and not worthy of comment and worth ignoring, yet this rubbish seems to be hugely encouraged. I repeat: at this time my view is not publicly directed at a particular poster, and not this poster in particular, more the current standard in general which is pretty damn low!
I must say that at times this section does drag on... (show quote)

So now there is an expectation from the viewers that you are going to post some of your work which will give us some examples of your vision of reality and quality. We ALL wait with bated breath.

Jacque, I think you’ve been looking at some of the dross by Timmers et all. There has been some excellent work posted by Thomas, Wirtzsworld and others. Do you actually view this forum regularly, or are you just making a judgement based on a couple of postings? There IS a load of half-assed porn and fetish images that have very dubious artistic value if any (and that’s putting it very kindly), but there is also the occasional excellent work. For example: https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-707395-1.html

Your take on this issue is spot on. We as viewers/readers will make up our own minds as to what is wheat and what is chaff.
