Frank,
Ansel Adams would be proud to have shot this one! Were you packing an 8x10?

Thanks. Would you believe this was shot with a handheld Canon Powershot S5 IS? Sometimes I think it takes better shots than my Nikon dslr.

Not starting anything, BUT my buddy the Canon DSLR model xyz shooter is real excited about borrowing old Nikon manual focus lenses. He had some adapter. He shoots lots of DSLR video for profit.

I can borrow the same lenses, but our other mutual friend will not sell them. Of course, I am a Nikon guy.

I also hear Canon DSLR video shooters desire old Pentax screwmount, especially the 50mm f1.2 whose price has shot up lately. They don't want auto focus as they hand control focus points for special effects. Go on Ebay and see what Pentax

50mm f1.2 is selling for. Old glass can be great glass.

Just saw your comment about the Pentax lens. I still have my Pentax Spotmatic from the late 60's with a50 mm 1.4 lens. I had never thought about using it on my Nikon. I will give it a try. Just have to find an adapter.

I know Canon makes an L series lens. It's expensive but fantastic quality. Does Nikon or any other comapny that I can put on a Nikon make anything that is like the L series?

If you are interested in lens performance, go to slrgear.com and check the tested lenses, I won't start WWIII of the Nikon v. Canon ilk. Too many people use these arguments as a forum to justify their own choices. Both make fine lenses-- and yes there are others....

So true. Both make some fantastic glass as well as some dogs. Suggesting that one makes better glass than the other is just plain uninformed.

Thanks to everyone that enjoyed my "Morning Bath" photo. Not technically great but one of those spur of the moment pics. here is another one. Didn't see the titmouse jump in until I saw it on the computer.

Saw some really beautiful photos of water today.
