The Mavica is dated technology. I made a lot of money replacing the disc drives years ago. If considering a change from any brand to another you have to consider what lenses you may have. If you have no interchangeable lenses then no big deal but I've had customers in the past regret switching brands and having to reinvest in lenses and getting pennies on the dollar for their old lenses.
KEH in Atlanta has a great reputation. Selling directly to them won't get you the greatest price but in a trade-in situation you may do OK.
I would approach Arm and Hammer about using it for advertising. Might be some money in it for you. Great shot!
This reminds me of an item I sold on ebay. Canon AE-1 Program. While researching the competition, I came across a photo that looked just like mine. Down to the serial # on the lens. I emailed the seller and he admitted to copying and using my photo because it was so buch better than his. I replied that it was no problem and I was flattered. Now when I sell on ebay I mention the photos are the actual item being offered.
Thanks! I just saved the photo from Italy for my background and printed and sold several copies. I'll mail a box of wine. Red or white? Just kidding of course. I agree that the quality would not be very good and probably a copyright issue.
Here is my Beagle, Molly, with the Sunday paper and coffee. My wife had just left the room and left the chair pulled out and Molley loves her coffee. I couldn't believe I got the camera in time. NOT STAGED! I love the reading glasses.
You forgot to mention Agfachrome! Great warm values. I'll start playing around with what I've got and let you know what I find. Looking at scanners on ebay now.
Thanks!
As is stated you either expose for the moon to get greater detail or you try to expose for the foreground. Can't have both really, until the digital age, unless you're really good in the old fashion darkroom. It's basically going to involve combining two different photos. I have seen good photos like you want that can be shot early morning while the moon is still visible even though the sun is up and painting the landscape. All a matter of timing and the perfect time timing is very short.
If you ever look close at a really small town phone book you will notice that on ONE page you will find "Bars" AND "Beauty Palors" Seems like if you spend enough time in the first listing the second won't matter, at least for the night.
This was shot next to Mobile Bay (AL) using a Canon D60 with Sigma 75-300 4/5.6. Not a very expensive lens. Tripod with self timer instead of cable release. Settings were ISO200, 1/250, f/11. Cropped and did a little contrast and brightness adjustment with Photoshop.
Easy fix with Photoshop. I had that problem with my Yorkie and got pretty good at making her eyes look natural. I would blackened them completely and add a touch of "highlight" Crop out a lot of wasted space and fix the eyes and you've got a great shot. My avatar of my Yorky had bright green glowing eyes at first. And I barely know Photoshop
Thanks! I'll do some research. This scanner was about $50 in some close out catalouge. Should have known better. You mentioned adjustable light source and flatbed.
What is the color temperature. Can it be corrected or will I need to correct any color shift later? Are you able to do slides on the flatbed? Thanks for the input.
Usually there are some worn "guides" that would be replaced if the parts are available. It can be pretty expensive depending on the design of the lens. Probably better selling as is.
One thing not mentioned is to not save a compressed file over and over and compressed each time. Each time the origional will loose some detail. Copy the file to whatever media works for you without the Save As jpeg again.
