How did we win the war? You're spouting off a nice little catchy phrase but we didn't win the war by a long shot. Did we win land taken from us. NO Did we win the hearts of the people? Certainly not. Did we bomb them into submission. Barely. Just enough so they hated us good. Yes, we went in there expecting it to be a cakewalk, take over the oil wells... The Iraqis were too smart for that, where were the oil wells, in flames. We didn't win any war and haven't for years.
Just to set the record straight, the last war declared by Congress was World War II and we (our military and allies) won that. Every hostile engagement since has been a police action, a regional conflict or an operation dictated, directed and controlled by politicians. Only the military under command of the military can win wars. Engagements under control of politicians either end where they began (Korea, 38th parallel; Vietnam, 17th parallel; Kuwait, original borders) or end up further inflaming regional animosities. The only way to win a war is to defeat an enemys ability to wage war.
Just curious, but does anyone know how many federal laws and regulations are already on the books? I read somewhere that a southern law professor once said there are now so many laws and regulations there is no one in the United States over the age of 18 that cannot be indicted for some federal crime. Frankly, I like the deadlock in DC. No new laws or regulations equates to more of my earnings I get to keep and more freedom to enjoy it. Seems to me like Congress spends most of its time passing laws and regulations to fix the laws and regulations they passed before.
The quote comes from the original rough draft of the Declaration of Independence as written by Jefferson. Look it up.

That entire argument was destroyed with the great depression!
The reaffirmation of the bankruptcy of your notions were again brought forty in the great recession.
Had Bush not gone to Congress and received permission to bail out the banks you would be standing on the corner with a cup in your hand.
Where do you think Congress "got" the money to bail out the banks...the tooth fairy?
No problem. Nobody else knows what to do about Iraq either...including the Iraqis.
Conservatives dont like transfer programs because they require helping the less fortunate with other peoples money.
Allow me to simplify this opinion. If I see a sick person and give him money out of my own pocket to see a doctor then Im seen as a Good Samaritan. On the other hand, if I see a sick person and steal the money out your pocket then Im seen as a despicable thief.
The only legitimate purpose of government is to protect the citizen in the enjoyment of Life, Liberty, and Property. The purpose of government, said Thomas Jefferson, is to allow for the preservation of life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Any other function assumed by government is usurpation and oppression.
A tenet of liberalism is the belief the essential role of government is to protect the weak. In truth, it is no more a function of government to protect the weak from the strong than it is to protect the strong from the weak.
To protect the weak from the strong is to imply the weak should get more of an advantage from government. Since most of us are weak rather than strong, we find little fault with that reasoning. And yet if we put aside our own selfish interest for that of the nation as a whole and how it may grow strong and endure, it seems absurd the government would favor weakness over strength. A nation that favors weakness over strength will soon find its action self-fulfilling.
Regardless however, the function of government is neither to protect weakness from strength nor strength from weakness. The purpose of government is to protect life from harm, liberty from enslavement, and property from seizure. It matters not whether the illegal act is performed by the strong or the weak, it is to be repressed.
Government is necessary, but the only rights we can delegate to government are the ones we possess. For example, we all have a natural right to defend ourselves against predators. Since we possess that right, we can delegate authority to government to defend us. By contrast, we don't have a natural right to take the property of one person to give to another; therefore, we cannot legitimately delegate such authority to government. Walter Williams
For the government to confiscate an undue portion of a citizens wealth without consent or compensation to give to another is nothing more than theft and immoral disregard of its delegated authority to the protection of property.

Thanks Jerry, for sharing!
John McAfee? Internet security pioneer.
Thanks. I guess I should have done a little searching myself.
Thanks. Looks like a great little app. Unfortunately, it only works on iPhone, iPad and iPod and I don't have iAnything!

So, it seems 7 computers crashed and no one tried to fix them, they just mysteriously discarded them, or recycled the hard drives. But no one did it, it just "got done". Not just random computers, but the very 7 allegedly containing e-mail files and back-up e-mail files required by the Congressional investigation. And still, everyone just appears mystified by this, none even suspecting a huge and dishonest coverup of evidence.
I'm starting to think these missing e-mails may implicate far more criminal bureaucrats than first thought. Perhaps even members of the investigation itself. We have yet to see Lois Lerner back on "the stand", under oath. This is what happens when all one needs to do is buy their job with someone else's money.

You may want to look up the long history with the Koch's and the nazis. I won't provide you with any sources, it will stay with you better when you look it up.
Wrong Koch family dear.
The Koch brothers are two of four sons of Fred Koch who was born in Quanah, Texas in 1900. Fred Koch was the son of Harry Koch who was born in The Netherlands in 1867 and emigrated to the United States in 1888, eventually settling in Quanah, Texas in 1890.

Sounds good to me! You might also want to add term limits as well. Enough of these "lifelong" politicians. New blood every 6 years will keep the "good old boys" from being entrenched in our governmental system.
We already have term limits - it's called an election. So who's to blame if the same "good old boys" go back to DC every 2 and 6 years? The American voter alarms me far more than the elected politician.

You're on a roll tonight, DP, first Donald Trump and now Rush!
Nobody listens to Rush    ;) ;)
Kind of reminds me of Pauline Kaels famous comment after Nixons 1972 landslide victory where he carried 49 states. I cant believe Nixon won. I dont know anybody who voted for him.
Rush Limbaugh has been the number one rated radio talk show for almost a quarter of a century reaching 15 to 20 million listeners a week.
Nobody listens to Rush says more about your own social circle than it does about Rush.
