Congrats. For years now, I've only purchased and used Refurbs. You do occasionally get a "stinker" The main thing that I always do is focus tests. I've gotten a few refurbs that just would not give me sharp focus. Sent them back (I use Cameta, but it doesn't matter, just do it quickly) If you aren't 100% blown away by the focus, send it back for another one. In every case that I've done that, the second one always comes back focusing tack sharp.

Just tossing that out there for you. I have seen some say that soft focus is "always operator error" I know they are refurbished, but I do wonder if sometimes they check for ALL issues, or just for what it was sent back for.
Congrats. For years now, I've only purchased and ... (show quote)

I just go one of Adorama's D7100 refurbs and it certainly doesn't focus..Thanks for the information.

I bought my first D7100 new 2 years ago and have some 125,000 clicks..I just bought from Adorama another only this time refurbished..absolutely love this camera. I did drop the first one along with my Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 and it is slow to focus. You just can't go wrong with this camera.

My beautiful youngster is growing up..at 25 months he made Morgan horse history when he was pinned the Grand Champion stallion at a class A show, the first time a blue eyed palomino has ever been pinned as such in the U.S. This was after just 2 months of suffering an accident in which we thought he would have to be put down. Youth was on his side. 2 years ago I posted a picture of him as a new foal. He is growing up exactly as I thought he would and deserves to keep his manhood intact.

The Kent Diner
Where-Halfway between Gramma's home and our home... located in Kent Oregon
Time best remembered...40's and 50's.
Why- Best burgers and Orange Crush when we went to Gramma's twice a year. Stopped for gas and a burger for everybody in the car.
Bonus- Also "GAS" from the burgers. Stopped going and coming home. Burgers twice a trip, twice or more a year. Four Kent Diner burgers each per year, unless we went more. (Then of course, more burgers per year)

Photo taken on Medium Format "Big Texas Leica" . the venerable Fujica 6x9 on 120 roll film. 8 shots per roll. Tough to "spray and pray". Serious consideration to all aspects of each shot, and never without a tripod under the camera.

Fujinon glass paired with Velveeta 50 ASA....Excellent.

Just went past this station last week end. Often wondered about its history. Thanks for the information. Of course I always take a picture of it.

A cowboy, who just moved to Wyoming from Texas , walks into a bar and orders three mugs of Bud. He sits in the back of the room, drinking a sip out of each one in turn. When he finishes them, he comes back to the bar and orders three more.

The bartender approaches and tells the cowboy, "You know, a mug goes flat after I draw it. It would taste better if you bought one at a time."

The cowboy replies, "Well, you see, I have two brothers. One is in Arizona , the other is in Colorado . When we all left our home in Texas , we promised that we'd drink this way to remember the days when we drank together. So I'm drinking one beer for each of my brothers and one for myself."

The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it there.

The cowboy becomes a regular in the bar, and always drinks the same way. He orders three mugs and drinks them in turn.

One day, he comes in and only orders two mugs. All the regulars take notice and fall silent. When he comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, "I don't want to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my condolences on your loss."

The cowboy looks quite puzzled for a moment, then a light dawns in his eyes and he laughs.

"Oh, no, everybody's just fine," he explains, "It's just that my wife and I joined the Baptist Church and I had to quit drinking."

"Hasn't affected my brothers though."

Thanks for sharing this beauty. It reminds me so much of my childhood when I spent hours playing with some of the early issue Breyer horses before I was allowed to associate with the real thing. What a delightful photo!

I would love to see some of your show shots. Do you have a website?

Right now we are on facebook under Two C Photography. I was only able to do the outdoor classes which were western and standard dressage and trail. I had dropped my camera at another event and it and the lens were damaged so have to do all manual focus and cannot shoot indoors for now. This little gal made my day and the photo has gone viral with close to 4000 shares. My website is being built under the name Two C Photography.
