Moray...

Time-Life did a series of (film)photography books years ago that are invaluable.

They demonstrate several views taken with different lenses, different f stops, different film speeds--all side by side.

I'm sure you can find it used, or in a library.

Ten volumes, I think, but very, very good IMO.

Cheers, Tom

Donrent and big bear...and others:

Gentlemen:

SOCIALISM is a form of government in which the government owns the means of production. This is not true in our country, and is not even desired by any politician that I know of. Give it a rest. List which of his ideas you disagree with, then you might know something...you might even learn.

BTW, donrent...I would love unions to have more power. It's the only way the little guy has a chance.

That's why you have to read...and think. It's difficult work, but it can be done.

Gee, don...that's a feeling, not a thought. See how hard it is...

Don, last one:

If you THINK, if you use words accurately and carefully, if you analyze--that is if you look up words in a dictionary:

Abortion is not MURDER

Obama is not a SOCIALIST, doesn't even have SOCIALIST ideals.

THINK with your Head. Avoid minipulations by Others.

It's possible, Don, but it's very hard work. Please try.

Don...continued:

What about a national program to reduce voting in the black population, citing voter fraud, which practically does not exist? That is a Republican program.

If you keep a tally, you will find that sex and money scandals in politics involve Republicans 80-90 per cent of the time. Keep a record...

Don, our problem is that we don't distinguish between thought and feelings. It is very hard work. Rush and Fox News exist to manipulate FEELINGS..there are no thoughts there.

Don, let me reply to your post. Please pay attention.

First of all Republicans have done significant damage to the country: Phil Gramm, a senator, introduced a bill which destroyed the banking laws that protected us since the Great Depression, turning our bank/finance system into a crooked casino in which you, I, and most others, lost money in our mutual funds and IRAs.

Remember that Bill Clinton produced a budget that would have repaid the national debt within 10 years--and the Republicans hijacked it, destroyed it, and have complained about the national debt ever since.

What about two recreational wars--unpaid for--that wasted the lives of 5,000 GIs and cost a trillion dollars (added to the debt)? I can't think of any reason for going to war with Iraq except--somehow--the Republicans could make a profit off it.

What about wiretapping the entire nation (Bush), thumbing through our bank accounts without a court order (Bush), arresting american citizens without consitutional protections (Bush)? What aout Torture (Bush)?

Once had a similar problem...had camera set to flash at END of exposure, rather than begining. Just a thought...Tom

Your math is correct, but the word you want is not "feet." 70-200 2.8 is a full frame lens. When used on a smaller sensor, mm is multiplied by 1.5 (approximately). Used on a smaller sensor (D90, or D7000) a 70-200 becomes a 105-300 approximately).

1.4 TC is an excellent choice. I leave mine on almost all the time.

Thom Hogan claimed no degradation in its use...possibly even sharpened the corners a bit.

On my computer, On One software (Perfect Resize, I think it is called) is a hundred bucks--much less than PS.

Haven't used Perfect Resize, but tried a FastStone product recommended by some on this site. It was a little awkward, but gave great results--and it was free!

Anyone else actually use Perfect Resize?

Considering spending the hundred bucks...
