Fantastic shots. I especially like the reflection pools. Thanks you have inspired me to get out and take more reference shots.
I am an artist as well as having learned how to photograph and edit. I think your shot is simply wonderful. That is a shot that I would paint. It is sharp to my eye. In LR I do sharpen. I always sharpen with the image magnified both dark areas as well as light areas. I shoot with Canon "L" glass, so it's really sharp to start with, and mostly does not need sharpening. I was taught by a pro photographer that told me that every image needs sharpening. He suggests around 90%. I would like to see more of your shots.
Thanks I'm sure you can help me. Good luck on your shoot.
Amazing shots. I think I would be ok in daylight but I had a shoot "under the lights" and my photos were dark and smeared. I shot in Ai servo, 70-200mm F4 canon 7D I had my ISO up high like 800-1000, aperture wide open at F4. hand held leaning my elbows on the fence. I was stationary at one end of the soccer field. How should I have set up my camera? I am thinking about upgrading to the 7Dii with the 65 cross type sensor. Any advice you could give me would be much appreciated.
Another View. I would love to have you go on CraigsList photo forum and meet a few of the Bully Trolls there. You have described them accurately and forthright. It is because of these few that I left to come here. Thanks for your comments.
Photos by Mark... You have amazing control of your emotions, as well as a good understanding that not everyone is considerate of others. I used to be on CraigsList photo forum, but after only a few months of abuse by some contributors who would demean others as well as myself by picking apart statements and twisting them to mean the opposite. I tried in a respectful manner to restate the issue but to no avail. I finally came to the realization that some people are just offensive and they will never change. It also appears that these "trolls" take advantage of the internets anonymity and would never have the courage to say such things face to face. I am dyslectic and have trouble expressing and formulating proper sentences as well as spelling, so like you I never mentioned it to the abusive ones. I applaud your self confidence and self esteem. I have found a home here and have found very learned photographers that I can learn from without feeling demeaned.
I am expanding my shooting to "action" shooting. Been in the studio too long. I need someone that has lots of experience shooting sports to help me . I need your help with the settings to create a "CUSTOM MODE" (C1) in my Canon 7D ( soon I will upgrade to the 7Dmkii). Other than settings for my Canon, I also need help with how to shoot action sports, the do's and don'ts. Mostly soccer under the lights.

Thanks is there anyone that takes sports action shoots? I need to know what Custom settings should I choose to add to my C1 mode? I am new to "action" shooting since I have been taking mostly studio shots.
LOL it fooled me as well !
One other question. If I set C1 for sports shoots , can I change my aperture and shutter on the fly?
It seems that the 7D is programed differently. I started in the aperture priority mode/menu/custom contols/C.Fniii/made a selction/pushed set button. from this point on I dont know how to save to the C1 mode?
