I decided on the Panasonic ZS40. Found one on eBay, and bid on it just hoping.... I got it! Should be here today or tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be posting a pic or two soon. 😃😃

Thank you for the warm welcome and advice. It is deeply appreciated. I never realized that a viewfinder would add so much to the price of a 'point & shoot' camera. <sigh> I have decided that it is a MUST, however, so I am now in the "shopping" phase. Again, thank you to all those that responded. 😃👍
I am planning on re-introducing myself to photography after losing all of my cameras/equipment in a canoe accident about 30 yrs. ago. I am not a very "serious" photographer, but just interested in creating a record of family, friends, places, etc,. I am considering the purchase of a Nikon Coolpix L 840/B 500, or the Canon equivalent. I would welcome advice, comparisons, etc. Thank you. 😃 Oh! I am also interested in a camera with a viewfinder, in addition to the "screen" viewer. Any suggestions?
