Well, I didn't get the joke, BUT the responses were fascinating. I was born at the beginning of WWII. Steam engines were still hauling freight (war material) and airplanes were all driven by propellers. A first class letter was 3¢ and airmail around 20¢. Since then the 33 ⅓ LP came into existence, was later replaced with the CD and now is downloaded from the internet digitally. Photography was mostly B+W from film and now a digital image can be emailed right after being created on one's cell phone or iPad. We've sent people to the moon and are now considering the possibility of going to Mars with people.

The internet has made popular opinion as precarious as wet sand and a few are selling pictures of naked children to other like-minded perverts.

Mostly, people are still good, but there are a few who are warped by what they see and hear on their computers and go bomb others and themselves in the name of God.

I'm so glad for an internet group like UHH where people can still see the beauty that is around them...in a sunset, a flower, an old rusting car or piece of farm equipment. Photography is a wonderful hobby for so many of us. I solute all of you, my photography friends.

And for an evening out, they went dancing with friends.

A short time ago my wife and I went to one of the better places to eat dinner. A younger couple were seated close to us a short time after us and each of them proceeded to spend their time buried in their iPhones. I don't think they said more than ten words to each other the whole time we were their. (But, I'm guessing they both have a ton of friends on FaceBook.)

I collected about 2 quarts of mulberries from a hillside close to our home. I thought I'd try making some jam from them. I used a combination steamer we use to get grape juice from grapes we grow in our yard. Well.....

After a great deal of time and a lot of propane consumed on our outdoor grill, I ended up with only 2 cups of juice. It wasn't worth the gas I had used. I then discovered it was quite tart, so I added a tbs of powdered sugar to sweeten it. It made me a 12 oz. drink to drink on a hot day.

Originally, Brigham Young wanted the mulberry trees for the leaves. He was going to raise silk warms which eat mulberry leaves until they spin their caccoons. Silk is made from them. Well, the transcontinental railroad was completed ca 1870 in Corrinne, Utah and soon after that the Utah silk industry died because there was no longer a need to be totally self sufficient.

I've since decided to also leave the mulberries to the squirrels!

Probably a Dodge, right before or after WWII. It is not a Ford or GM product.

I'm a big fan of historically important airplanes. When we visit our son, who lives in Old Town Alexadria, we regularly go to Air and Space on the Mall and the annex out at Dullas. We've also gone to the Marine Museum and my boy bought be an air fare to Columbus and we shot pictures for three day at Dayton Air and Space.

Now we have yet another place to see. Great shots!

I'm guessing those two main binocular eyes are 50mm 1.4s in full frame format.

I love jumping spiders. When I tell people they can jump a distance about 30X their length and land on their pray they are amazed.

What kind of a scanner do you use? I don't know much about scanners, but I sure love the quality of the scans I'm getting from my Epson V600.

I just loaded a 36 exposure roll of Ilford Delta 100 into one of my Pentax F bodies. I have never used this film before. I will probably develop it with a one shot solution of Ilfosol 3. I will scan and post pics on UHH after the roll is shot. Of course, a large part of the results will help me determine what I will first want to buy and try in 120 rolls to use in the Mamiya once the camera gets to my doorstep.

I just did a similar thing, bought a Mamiya M645 with prism and 80mm lens. Almost all of my film shooting has been with Pentax 35mm bodies, Spotmatic Fs being my favorite.

After it arrives I'll try a high grade roll or two of Ilford Pan F to see if the Mamiya lens is satisfactory.

Love your shots with the Bronica.

Actually, it was on of these trips that we took a short airplane trip down to the Big Island, and went to the same botanical garden just outside of Hilo before our return flight. I used an old 100MM macro lens on my K10 to shoot pics of those elegant orchids. Oh, they were so beautiful.

For many years my wife and I would visit our oldest daughter who lived on the windward side of Oahu in Kailua and just a 5 minute walk to the beautiful Kailua beach. It was from those trips that I learned to love orchids. Right now I have one orchid that has decided to give me a second years worth of flowers. For me, that is a success story. All of your pictures and the orchids are stunning.

Now that I have a scanner, I'm starting to use my old film cameras again. Unfortunately, some of my old favorites are now gone...Kodachrome, Fuji Reala and Panatomic X. I'm in the process of trying a lot of what's still out there, but I would also like to find out what some of you use, if you still dabble in this old school stuff. I'm also interested in what developers you like to use with certain films and why. Any and all responses welcome.

Family is 'usually' wonderful. My wife and I are very proud of our five grand children. All of our children and their children are doing great. The other side of the coin are those relatives that can't figured out anything and end up in the slammer for a very long. My wife has a nephew who has about 14 years of time on his hands right now. 14 years to try and figure out what to do differently when he free. We might not even be alive when he will try to put his life back together.

I'm still finding boxes of old pics, so the scanning process continues.

The following two pictures of Wood Ducks were taken at a local pond several years ago.
